Ahsoka’s ending reveals the fate of the dark Jedi apprentice, Shin Hati. Being one of the most popular characters in the series, Ivanna Sahkno’s performance captured the attention of viewers from the first episode of the series. Whether it’s the mystery surrounding his past or the uncertainty that awaits the future, Shin’s role in the Star Wars universe is cause for great anticipation, especially as he is expected to consider his path to redemption.
Ahsoka: Fate Shin Hati After the End?
In episode 7 of Ahsoka, Baylan Skoll, played by Ray Stevenson, separates from his apprentice, insisting that they have different desires to pursue. The season finale shows him standing among statues of the Mortis gods, notably on the Father’s hand. Meanwhile, Shin has been left stranded on Peridea, without her master by her side and no other allies to guide her. With numerous paths unfolding before her, episode 8 has revealed exactly which one Shin has chosen, which could be of great importance in season 2 of the series.
Why Does Shin Hati Join the Bandits on Peridea in Ahsoka’s Ending?
After being abandoned by her master and left behind by Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), Shin is disillusioned, and her only desire is to find a place to belong. She knows she can be the leader of the mercenaries in Peridea, something she has already proven in episode 7. They will answer the call of her orange lightsaber, which she ignites to gather them under her blade.

This option seems to be the easiest for Shin Hati at the moment, as she does not consider herself “good” enough to accept the Jedi’s offer of redemption. At least she knows how the mercenaries perceive her, and Shin Hati can maintain more control there than in the uncertainty of the path Ahsoka has offered her.
What is the Future of Shin Hati in Star Wars?
Although Shin Hati’s story doesn’t necessarily have a direct impact on Ahsoka’s bigger picture, she is still on the same planet as Ahsoka and Sabine. There is no doubt that he will return, even if he simply acts as a nuisance to them. The offer of redemption he has extended to him still stands, and whether Shin decides to return to accept it or not remains to be seen. There is hope for Shin Hati, although what exactly he will do with the mercenaries at his side remains unknown.

The end of the episode perfectly sets the stage for season 2. With Shin being left behind on Peridea along with Baylan, Ahsoka, and Sabine, there’s no doubt that his story will continue. Baylan is clearly looking to connect with the Mortis gods in some way, while Ahsoka will take the opportunity to advance Sabine’s training and strengthen her Padawan’s trust in the Force.
Until that time comes, there’s not much else they can do on the desolate planet, giving Shin Hati more than enough time to reflect on Ahsoka’s offer and everything else she needs to consider on her own. Exactly what role Shin Hati will have to play in all of this remains to be seen, but Star Wars still has plenty of surprises in store for this character, especially in the context of Ahsoka.
