Hellbound: Release Date Meet The New Korean Netflix Series After The Squid Game

Lovers K-Dramas and productions with Korean content in general are looking forward to the premiere on Netflix in Hellbound (Rumbo al Infierno) hoping to repeat or even surpass the success that has become the game Squid taking into account that this new premiere is under the baton of the same director of Zombie Station: Train to Busan Yeon Sang Ho.

With six episodes, Hellbound also known as The Hell or in Korean jiog (Hell) is based on the web comic series “Jiok”, written by Yeon Sang Ho himself and illustrated by Choi Kyu Seok (first published on 25 August 2019) via the well-known Asian search platform Naver. It features a cast of well-known stars from the Korean entertainment industry led by Yoo Ah InPark Jung MinKim Hyun JooWon Jin Ah, and Yang Ik Joon.

Hellbound Release Date

One of the greatest attractions of the adaptation is that it has a talented cast that will be in charge of portraying a world where these beings will be worshiped by some as angels sent by God and feared by others, as demons who will come to torment people. The story shows Jung Jin Soo (played by Yoo Ah In), the leader of a new religion called Saejinrihwe, the Church of the New Truth. He preaches that the angels of death came to earth by the will of God, so the human race must accept and obey it. The Hellbound will release on Netflix on 19th November, 2021.

Bae Young Jae (played by Park Jung Min), a producer for a radio station, tries to unearth the truth about the religious group. He has a wife named Song So Hyun (played by Won Ji Ah) who succumbs to the new religious sect. Min Hee Jin (played by Kim Hyun Joo), is a lawyer who fights against the Hwasalchok group and all those who blindly follow the Saejinrihwe religion. While Jin Gyeong Hoon (played by Yang Ik Joon), is a detective in charge of investigating cases related to the appearance of the angels of death and the Saejinrihwe sect.

Although some might think that Heading to Hell has a very difficult time to overcome the global phenomenon that The Squid Game has become, it is perhaps because they do not know that before its official launch on November 19 on the Netflix platform, the long-awaited The production won unexpected recognition when it was invited to be seen at the prestigious 46th Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, which was held from September 9 to 18.

The first video released a few weeks ago is followed by two recent posters showing how terrible it is when hell comes to earth to persecute sinners. As its synopsis says, Hellbound tells the story of people who hear prophecies about when they will die. When the time comes, the angel of death appears in front of them and kills them. The first poster shows a seated man with a burned body, some of it charred. In front of him is a large gray creature that glows in the sunlight. While in the second poster, the creature is chasing a man. accompanied by the legend: “Is this murder? Or God’s judgment?”.
