Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Ending Explained: What is Isaac’s Plan? Who is Aunt Ofelia?

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 has finally deciphered the enigmas that fans had been waiting for, and it has also brought a couple of surprises that no one expected and that completely change what we believed about certain characters in the Addams family. In this final part of the season, the various narrative arcs and multiple mysteries that began in the first part ended in a generally more than satisfactory way. But with everything that has happened, it’s easy to lose some detail or some particular evolution of a character. And so, also in future memory in view of the probable season 3, here are the destinies of the main characters summarized and explained in the finale of Wednesday Season 2; and, ultimately, our brief judgment on this temporary epilogue. The first part of Wednesday Season 2 basically consists of what has just been listed and has four episodes (and a zombie), which, even if it doesn’t seem like it, reveal many things and leave several questions open for the second part, which will debut on September 3rd.

BEWARE, SPOILER ALERT. After sneaking into Willow Hill Psychiatric Center, confront Judi Stonehearst (Heather Matarazzo)- freeing the study objects of the LOIS program, being attacked by Hyde Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) and left in a coma, Merlina Addams (Jenna Ortega) wakes up in the second part of the second season of “Wednesday”, Netflix series created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. When he opens his eyes, he receives a surprise: he already has a new spiritual guide. This is Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), the former director of Nevermore. As Merlina struggles to locate and stop Tyler before he hurts Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Judi hires an expert to capture Lois’ members. When only the woman Wednesday helped out personally is missing, the Hyde attacks him. Meanwhile, Slurp visits Augustus Stonehearst’s daughter and completes his revenge against that family. When director Dort (Steve Buscemi) refuses to cancel the Day of the Dead celebration, the protagonist of “Wednesday” organizes his friends to set a trap for Tyler and become his new mistress. Before he can do it, another Hyde appears. This is Francoise Galpin (Frances O’Connor), who was part of the Lois show and who made a deal with Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones): reunite with her son in exchange for leaving forever without hurting anyone.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Ending Explained: Who is Lois and What Happens in Willow Hill?

While Wednesday and Agnes (a school student who is obsessed with her and uses her ability to become invisible to stalk her) investigate Galpin’s death, the existence of a possessed outcast who controls the birds and at the same time tries to prevent Enid’s death, they discover a cabin in the woods where, presumably, the evidence they need to solve the main mystery is found. There, Wednesday discovers that Galpin and the crows’ first victim were working on something important. Behind a mirror, he finds obituaries of several outcasts who had entered Willow Hill as patients.

After asking his grandmother for help, he discovers that the remains in the urns with the names of these people are not human, but animals, a detail that indicates the existence of a much darker secret. In fact, together with the obituaries, the word LOIS is also repeated, which Wednesday initially considers a personal name, but turns out to be something very different. This time, he asks his uncle for help, who infiltrates the hospital and discovers that the truth about LOIS lies behind a door protected by a code. When Wednesday and her uncle try to open it, the situation becomes even more disturbing because they discover that all the outcasts left for dead are actually alive and locked up in Willow Hill, who uses them as guinea pigs for a secret project whose acronym is LOIS.

Who is the Real Villain of the Season?

For a moment it seems that the villain of the story is Dr. Fairburn, the psychiatrist in charge of Willow Hill played by Thandiwe Newton, but it soon turns out that behind LOIS is his secretary, Judi (Heather Matarazzo), daughter of a scientist who had worked at Nevermore and had conducted experiments on outcasts, to find a way to steal their skills and pass them on to ordinary people.

Who is the Mysterious Patient He Saves on Willow Hill on Wednesday?

After freeing all the prisoners locked in the secret room, Wednesday also saves a mysterious patient with long black hair, whom she found in a cell, and has something that intrigues her. At the moment, it is not explained who this woman is, but it could be Ophelia, Morticia’s younger sister often appeared in the dialogues of the first episodes because she had psychic abilities like those of Wednesday. The aunt she had never met had been committed to a mental institution after losing control of her ESP powers and had subsequently mysteriously disappeared into thin air.

The Return of Thornhill and Hyde (Tyler)

One of the great surprises of the season it’s the return of Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill, who arrives in Willow Hill because Dr. Fairborn needs her help to deal with Tyler and, presumably, continue her rehabilitation process. Thornhill seems to be cooperative, but in reality, she wants to free Tyler to take revenge on Wednesday and takes advantage of the chaos that the latter creates in the hospital when she opens the LOIS project room to free him. Tyler, however, has no intention of submitting to her wishes again and kills her, later escaping from the hospital.

What Happened to Wednesday?

After killing Marilyn Thornhill, Tyler runs into Wednesday and throws her out the window. The last time we see her, she lies unconscious on the ground as the authorities arrive to try to manage the scene and the chaos. Obviously, Wednesday is not dead, since she will bewitch us for another season as well as for the second part of this one, but she is not so well, which could slow down her investigation into the raven serial killer, but also that into her second stalker.

In this case, suspicions point to Isadora Capri, the new music teacher played by Billie Piper, who always appears with a hood covering her face. Finally, if Wednesday is knocked out, how can he save Enid from the dark omen he has identified? Well, this is another of the reasons why we expect to start the second part of the show by discovering that the mysterious patient is actually Aunt Ophelia and that she can help her niece (now that, among other things, she no longer has the book by Goody, gone up in flames).

Who was the Avian Who Commanded the Murderous Crows?

This question had already been answered in the finale of the first part of this second season, and the answer is Judi Stonehearst, the daughter of Professor Augustus. Thanks to her father’s crazy torture of outcasts on Willow Hill, Judi had gained avian powers (not the flu). And so he unleashed the crows on the investigating ex-Sheriff Galpin and his detective friend. In the second part of the season, Isaac-Slurp explains to his sister Francoise and nephew Tyler that he took out Judi, who we see at a certain point in the trunk of the car where Agnes was hiding.

Lady Gaga’s Role and Song in Wednesday 2

As we had anticipated, the fact that Lady Gaga’s character does call Professor Rotwood and that the Addams had moved into a cottage of the same name couldn’t be a coincidence. And in fact, Professor Rotwood lived in that very cottage when she was a beloved teacher (and a very powerful Crow). Grandma Esther Frump, also a great admirer of her teacher, sends her niece to Rotwood’s grave to temporarily regain her power. The teacher’s spirit warns Wednesday that she will not have to take her hand off the fire during the vision, but Enid arrives and, without knowing anything, takes it off to bring her back to the room before the inspection, resulting in the exchange of bodies between the two companions of the room. If, however, you are interested in knowing the title of Lady Gaga’s song for Wednesday 2, it is Dead Dance, and below we report the official video.

Principal Dort’s Deserved Tragic End?

Let’s get back to the Nevermore staff to deal with the end of Principal Dort, played by Steve Buscemi. As several fans had suspected, Dort was behind the Morning Sun scam that Bianca’s mother, Gabrielle, had participated in. In the second part of Wednesday 2, it is revealed that Dort’s extreme desire to collect donations (from Grandma Esther) did not stem from Nevermore’s love, but from mere personal ends. Dort, in fact, was Gabrielle’s manager in the past, when she was a mermaid in a bar where Dort met the bartender, a failed actor named Gideon. The Gideon himself at the head of the Morning Sun, or at least apparently; in reality, it was Dort who put him there as the figurehead and face of his scams.

After Bianca had closed the sect and taken her mother away so as not to be forced to follow in her footsteps, Dort had decided to become principal of Nevermore, where they evidently have a personnel selection problem. Dort discovers Gabrielle hiding at Nevermore and forces Bianca to use her mermaid powers to convince Esther to give up all her assets to Nevermore, or rather to Dort himself, but in the end, his plan turns against him. At the Gala, as the donation is made public, Agnes steals (as an unseen) Dort’s anti-mermaid amulet, and Bianca forces him to tell everyone the truth. When he recovers, the principal tries to take Bianca hostage, but Ajax petrifies him with a gorgon-like look, and immediately afterwards, a heavy chandelier falls and shatters the evil Dort with stone. At this point, it is unlikely that we will see him again.

Who will Willow Hill Patient Be Saved by Wednesday?

The most popular fan theories have instead missed the predictions and hypotheses about the mysterious woman locked up in Willow Hill and saved by Wednesday. This is not Aunt Ophelia, who presumably will have an important role in the third season, at least judging by the ending of this second. Instead, she is Francoise Night Galpin, the alleged late wife of the former sheriff, as well as Tyler’s mother. To whom she transmitted power from Hyde, which she also uses at the request of Morticia, her ancient acquaintance. But we’ll go back later.

Slurp’s True Identity: Isaac Night?

The identity of the zombie resurrected by Pugsley has also been revealed. His name is Isaac Night, Francoise’s brother and Tyler’s uncle. He was the genius student of Professor Stonehearst who blew up the laboratory, dying in the accident. After Pugsley’s intervention, the zombie became progressively human again by eating the brains of its victims. But he was still missing a very important piece of himself.

How Isaac Died, and How Gomez Lost His Power?

Also, this season, the past of Gomez and Morticia is decisive for the fate of the current problems. In this case, we discover that Isaac was a roommate and friend of Gomez, who, as a boy, had the same electrical power as Pugsley and Fester. He lost it because of Isaac, who, to take away Hyde’s power from Francoise (and therefore extend her life, given that the Hydes cannot live long without masters), had invented a machine, the one later distorted by Stonehearst for his experiments, which needed energy. Lots of energy. And then Isaac tricked Gomez and tied him to an electric chair to use his power until he died. At the last moment, when Gomez had now lost all his charge and was about to die, Morticia intervened, cutting off Isaac’s hand (hence Mano) and causing the explosion from which she, Gomez, and Francoise were saved, but which killed Isaac, despite his mechanical heart. Thus, Gomez and Morticia buried Isaac in the hole under the tree he had dug for Gomez, thus satisfying the blackmail of Stonehearst, who had threatened to sue them for (another) murder if they revealed the existence of the laboratory in the Iago Tower.

How Does the Final Battle Between Wednesday and Isaac End?

To take revenge on the past, and also to have enough energy after the failed attempt with the “heart” torn from Prof Orloff, whose brain he ate while he was at it, Isaac kidnaps his resurrecter Pugsley, to do with him that he didn’t succeed with Gomez: suck every electricity and every vital power from him to save a family member. But this time it’s not up to Francoise, who, after a long time without a master and without even the Willow Hill pills, is destined to die. Isaac’s sister leaves her place for her son, Tyler, who is forced against her will. Morticia and Wednesday come to Pugsley’s rescue, but Wednesday spares Tyler’s life, freeing him to unleash his fury against his uncle and mother. And amid the fury of Tyler and the combined efforts of Morticia and Wednesday, another explosion occurs in the lab, hopefully ending Isaac. At the hands, above all, of Mano, who, after being recovered by his original master, rebels and kills him, and then takes off his arm and returns to the Addams. In the clash between Hyde, Mother Francoise gets the worst of it, crashing to the ground and dying instantly.

What Happened to Enid, Alpha and Lone Wolf?

In addition to discovering Wednesday‘s most intimate secrets, including the vision of his death, fortunately averted, Enid also discovered that he was an alpha werewolf. This discovery, also made with the help of Capri (who is evidently a kind of talent scout), means that Enid can transform into a wolf even when there is no full moon, but also condemns her to a life of probable solitude. Especially because, to save Wednesday, who had been buried alive by Isaac, Enid voluntarily transforms at the first full moon after her “evolution”. A choice which, as you know, is almost certainly irreversible. Enid then remains in animal form indefinitely, and in the finale, we discover that Wednesday has every intention of finding her, wherever she hides.

Our Opinion on the Finale on Wednesday Season 2 Part 2

Having summarized, also for a future review, all the main narrative lines of this season, we close this analysis of the finale of Wednesday 2nd with our opinion. Which is all in all positive, both for the ability to give answers and for how it anticipated new questions, and in general for an undeniable sense of satisfaction that gave us the closure of this intricate story. If we want to find a flaw, at the end of Wednesday 2nd, we found a bit’ forced reconstruction of the bond in the past between Gomez/Morticia and Night, in particular with Tyler’s mother. A mechanism already seen in the first season, but which, in this repetition, appeared not very credible. We’ll see if there will be something similar to Ophelia in the third season.

Who is Aunt Ofelia?

The aunt Ofelia, Morticia’s sister, is one of the most enigmatic characters in Wednesday, of which we still have to know almost everything, and clearly it will be one of the central axes of next season. For now, Wednesday has received from her mother the diary of her aunt, the one whom Morticia has always regretted that her daughter looks so similar, and while she flips through its pages she receives some visions in the form of flashes of Ofelia from behind (surely its definitive actress will be a signing kept as an ace up its sleeve for the third season). Although of Ophelia Frump (Morticia’s family name) until now in the series, we had been told that she was “missing”, at the end of the episode, we see exactly where she is. Ofelia is in the basement of Grandma Hester’s (Joanna Lumley) mansion, visibly deranged, and defacing the message on a wall: “Wednesday must die”.
