Agatha All Along: Who Are the Witches We Will See in The Series?

Agatha All Along lets itself be carried away by the dark side, it dives into the world of witches and black magic within the MCU and is a black comedy with a story of revenge, power, and witches who want to change history. The series picks up right after the events of WandaVision, where Wanda Maximoff discovers that her neighbor, Agatha, is actually a witch who wants to use her to unleash her chaos magic so she can steal it for herself. Agatha is the cause of all the trouble in The Hex, the alternate reality Wanda builds to deal with the loss of Vision, and as punishment, Wanda decides to leave her trapped there, powerless and unable to remember who she really is.

Agatha All Along: Who Are the Witches We Will See in The Series?

In the first trailer for Agatha All Along, Kathryn Hahn appears as Agatha, who is convinced she is a police detective who must investigate a mysterious death until someone opens her eyes, helps her remember who she is and what happened to her, and she seeks to form a new coven of witches to help her get her revenge and regain her lost powers. Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, and Joe Locke are some of the actors who join the coven that is at the center of what could be one of the best series in the MCU.

Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness

Kathryn Hahn has appeared in series such as The Shrink Next Door, Mrs. Fletcher, Tiny Beautiful Things, and WandaVision. Here we see her as Agatha Harkness, a Salem witch who, centuries after being betrayed by her coven (who accuses her of practicing black magic), tries to take advantage of Wanda Maximoff, using her pain to force her to release all her power and chaos magic, so that she could steal it. Wanda discovers this and Agatha ends up trapped in an alternate reality where she doesn’t remember who she is and can no longer use her powers, and that pushes her to seek revenge.

Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal

Aubrey Plaza comes from legendary series like Parks and Recreation, Legion (which is not part of the MCU but is one of the best Marvel series) and The White Lotus. Here she plays Rio Vidal, a witch who helps Agatha remember who she really is and who becomes part of her coven.

Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu

LuPone previously played a witch in the gothic horror period series Penny Dreadful and is also a well-known actress who has been part of projects such as Beau is Afraid, Witness, and Heist. The actress plays Lilia, a nearly 500-year-old witch who can see future events, and who has her own reasons for agreeing to be part of Agatha’s coven, even knowing her history.

Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan

We first saw Joe Locke as a love-struck teenager figuring out her place in the world in the hit series Heartstopper, but here he takes on a different role. The actor appears as Billy, a teenager who joins a coven made up mostly of women, and who has an ability that catches Agatha’s attention.

Debra Jo Rup is Sharon David

The That 70’s Show actress appears as Mrs. Hart in the alternate reality created by Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision, but she is also a witch. Her real name is Sharon Davis and after remembering this too she joins Agatha’s coven to help her in her mission of revenge.

Kate Forbes as Evanora Harkness

Evanora Harkness is the mother of Agatha Harkness. She is the leader of her own coven in Salem and is one of the witches who tries to stop her daughter, but she is killed during Agatha’s trial. Evanora is played by Kate Forbes, who had the same role in WandaVision.
