Now You See Me 3: Lionsgate Reveals Film Release Date Not This Year!

Lionsgate has announced the release date for Now You See Me 3, the new film starring Jesse Eisenberg and set in the world of illusionists. The third installment in the Now You See Me franchise is getting a makeover from Lionsgate, and the studio has now confirmed exactly when the highly anticipated threequel will hit theaters. With production slated to begin this year, director Ruben Fleischer and his team should have plenty of time to finish the third Now You See Me. Now You See Me 3 will continue the successful magical film series, with Fleischer taking over from predecessors Jon M. Chu and Louis Leterrier at the helm. While the director will be new, Now You See Me 3 will feature the main cast from the first two films.

The Success of Now You See Me?

The first  Now You See Me was released in theaters in 2013, directed by Louis Leterrier. The film follows a group of magicians — played by  Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and  Dave Franco  — who pull off bank heists and give the stolen money to the audiences at their shows. The cast also includes  Mark Ruffalo, who plays an FBI agent who tries to bring the magicians to justice, while  Morgan Freeman plays a former magician who now hosts a TV show where he exposes the tricks of illusionists.

Now You See Me grossed $351.7 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of just $75 million. However, the film received mixed reviews from critics.  In 2016,  Now You See Me 2 was released,  directed by  Jon M. Chu and starring Eisenberg, Harrelson, Franco, Ruffalo, and Freeman with the addition of newcomers  Lizzy Caplan and  Daniel Radcliffe. The sequel was also not well received by critics, while it grossed $334 million at the worldwide box office against a higher budget than its predecessor, between $90 and $120 million.

Now You See Me 3‘s Competition?

The chosen date brings the third chapter of the saga featuring the Four Horsemen to compete at the American box office with the animated film Zootopia 2, Wicked: Part Two which will conclude the story based on the popular Broadway musical, the long-awaited Marvel film Blade starring Mahershala Ali, and Bugonia, the new feature film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos which marks the filmmaker’s further collaboration with Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. The first two installments of the Now You See Me saga have grossed nearly $700 million worldwide.

The Protagonists of the Sequel?

Returning cast members include Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Newcomers to the cast include Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike. Now You See Me will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland), while the screenplay was written by Michael Leslie (The Hunger Games), Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie), and Eric Warren Singer (Top Gun: Maverick). The production team also includes Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman. The first installment of Now You See Me hit theaters in 2013. It followed a group of illusionists, including Isla Fisher and Dave Franco’s characters, who pulled off spectacular heists during their shows.

Now You See Me 3 Release Date?

The scam franchise will once again return to the big screen. As confirmed by Lionsgate, Now You See Me 3 will debut in theaters (American date) on November 14, 2025, and will continue to tell the adventures of the scam artists with Ruben Fleischer taking over as director, taking over from his predecessors Jon M. Chu and Louis Leterrier.
