The most anticipated film Dunki finally arrived in the cinema here we are going to tell you should watch this movie or not. Every young person cherishes the desire to settle abroad. No matter the path, the aim is only to go abroad. Those who have used the services of immigration consultants to go abroad would be familiar with the word ‘Dunki’ but among the general public, there would be a very smaller population who would be familiar with this name. There are two ways to go abroad, one is legal, and the other is illegal which is also called Dunki. The film Dunki, released in theaters on December 21, tells the story of going abroad illegally. The film has been completely successful in conveying the message that any work done illegally is neither beneficial for oneself nor for the family. Rajkumar Hirani and Shahrukh Khan have come together for the first time through this film, and even before its release, the film has set new records in booking.

Before this, Shahrukh Khan’s last two films – Pathaan and Jawan created a stir at the box office. This time director Rajkumar Hirani has brought the story of thousands of people who went abroad and saw a golden dream future, and who went to the borders to fulfill this dream. Let’s cross. After Pathaan and ‘Jawan’, Shahrukh Khan is coming in front of the audience for the third time at the end of this year. But unlike his previous two films, Dunki is an emotional film of Shahrukh, which will make you cry while making you laugh. Hirani has introduced Shahrukh Khan through the lens of his camera. Let us tell you how this film is.

Dunki Movie Review: The Story Plot

First of all, let’s talk about the story of the film. Dunki is the story of three friends Manu (Taapsee Pannu), Buggu (Vikram Kochhar), and Jassi (Anil Grover) who want to go to London to earn and improve the bad conditions of their lives. For them, going to London and earning money in the pond is the only way to get rid of their problems. All of them have their compulsions and they get the support of Hardy (Shahrukh Khan). While trying to go to London, he meets Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal) who wants to go to London to save his girlfriend. They do not get the visa even after many efforts and finally, they adopt the donkey route to go to London. Donkey means going abroad illegally without a visa. Now can they all reach London? And to know what happens next, you will have to watch the film.

Dunki Movie Review and Analysis

In the first half of the film, the story progresses at a slightly slow pace. Before the interval, many light moments in the story will make you laugh. The initial journey tells the story of these friends trying to get visas. Vicky Kaushal’s emotional scenes along with humor in the first half will leave you shaken. Vicky Kaushal’s sequence is great, which directly connects the audience with that part of the film. His real Dunki journey begins in the second half. The second half is more emotional, where once again Shahrukh Khan will be seen winning your hearts with his romance and emotions. Dunki is not that film where you applaud loudly at the hero’s entry and then get lost. Rather, this is a story which talks about a very serious topic.

Dunki ShahRukh

Although the entire weight of the film rests on Shahrukh‘s shoulders, this time veteran director Rajkumar Hirani and a powerful story are supporting Shahrukh. Shahrukh Khan’s specialty is that he acts completely immersed in his character and he has acted brilliantly in this film too. Romance is his strong point, his romantic scenes with Taapsee Pannu in the film are amazing. Taapsee Pannu acted brilliantly. He has given his best performance as per the character. Other supporting actresses have also supported the film brilliantly. VK Kaushal and Gurpreet Ghugghi also played small but effective roles in the film. Boman Irani has also played the brilliant role of a professor giving English coaching in this film. Rajkumar Hirani has made a comeback after a long time. After the film Sanju, he is making a comeback after about five years.

He is such a director who first does extensive research and homework on the subject on which he makes a film and then enters the field. He is counted as a director who carries out the work from story to screenplay, editing, etc. under his supervision. He has taken excellent work from every actor. The editing in the film is also neat. The pace of the film remains the same and does not slow down anywhere. The dialogue in the film is also excellent. The songs are written by Javed Akhtar, Irshad Kamil, Varun Grover, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Kumar, and Swanand Kirkare, and the music is composed by Pritam. Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Javed Ali, and Shreya Ghoshal have lent their voices to the songs. All the songs of the film are good out of which Loot Put Gaya, Banda, and Nikle the Kabhi Hum Ghar Se are already making waves. This film is an ideal film for Shah Rukh Khan fans who want a family film with a great story. Is. The film can be completely called a money-waste film.

The thing about which there was a lot of publicity in the film Dunki, remains missing in the film till the interval. The film takes so long to establish its premise that the second half of the film is unable to handle it even after trying hard. The song Aate Aate written by Javed Akhtar sung by Sonu Nigam in the film inspired by Prem Dhawan’s song has bored the audience so much that no one even pays attention to the lyrics of this song. This time Raj Kumar Hirani left his familiar corridors and reached Punjab. In the story of a youth desperate to go abroad in the village of Laltu, a soldier named Harry Singh Dhillon (yes, a soldier again) appears. He comes to return the tape recorder of his rescuer but stays here to fulfill the dreams of the people here. The film takes so much time to establish the premise of a soldier illegally transporting these people to London that the iodine itself evaporates in the air by the time one gets the taste of real salt.

Not only has Raj Kumar Hirani lost the faith of his fans in Dunki, his first film made after coming out of the Vidhu Vinod Chopra camp, but Shahrukh Khan has also left no stone unturned in breaking the hearts of his fans. His character keeps speaking Punjabi throughout the film. It clearly shows that his Punjabi is no longer the same as it would have been before he came to Bombay from Delhi. A lot of advertisements are shown before and during the start of the film, to show what is the brand value of Shahrukh Khan. He is also seen with his arms spread in his familiar style in a washing powder advertisement. And, on this occasion, we remember that announcement video of the film Dunki in which Shahrukh had jokingly talked about getting his hand chopped off if he got Raj Kumar Hirani’s film. As impressive as this video of the film Dunki was, the film Dunki has become ineffective.

Seeing Shah Rukh Khan in this film, it seems that his getup has been shown changing to match his getup in the film ‘Pathaan‘ and the film ‘Jawaan’. Both these films are action films, so without any need, two action scenes of Shahrukh have been included in the film Dunki. While dodging bullets in one and firing bullets in the other. The story mostly takes place in 1995 and what Shah Rukh looked like then, not only in this country but also in his crores of fans across the world. The charisma that Atlee once again created in ‘Jawaan’ of the elderly Shahrukh of 2023 is not in the DNA of the film Dunki. It is not known how much Shahrukh Khan interfered in the making of this film, but after watching the film, it seems that it must have been his idea to incorporate his characters in the films ‘Pathaan‘ and ‘Jawan‘ into this film as well. And, I have already written at the beginning of the review how the veteran director of Hindi cinema forgot his art as soon as he got Shahrukh, whose cinema the audience had trusted a lot before.

Dunki Movie Review: The Last Words

Apart from the film’s story, screenplay, direction and Shahrukh Khan’s average acting, the other major weakness of the film is its production design. Before setting up the sets in Punjab, the team of this film seems to have watched a lot of Yash Chopra’s films. Havelis and streets from Yash Raj Films’ ‘Veer Zara’ to ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ are seen in the film Dunki. London, Dubai, and UAE are all seen. Apart from the reverse Dunki scene, there is nothing in the film that will make you jump out of your seat and think what is going to happen next? All the actors look so white that even the director has to insert a line to establish this, ‘Meri Maa Kehti Thi, you seem like a complete foreigner’. Songs, Shaane toh ji, are as they are. There was great anger over the fact that the years passing so happily were about to end with the release of such a film.
