Dune Part 2: The Length of Denis Villeneuve’s Film Revealed Here What We Know
There are still three months left until the release of Dune Part 2, initially scheduled for November 2023, and which will instead arrive in cinemas in March 2024. There is great anticipation around the second part of the adaptation directed by Denis Villeneuve of the iconic and monumental work of science fiction by Frank Herbert. And the duration of Dune Part 2 will also be monumental which, according to Collider reports, will exceed that of the first chapter and will set a record in the Canadian director’s filmography. At 166 minutes, Dune: Part Two will be 11 minutes longer than the first film and will become the film with the longest running time in Denis Villeneuve’s career, even surpassing the 163 minutes of Blade Runner 2049.
According to what was reported by ComingSoon.net the film will have a duration of 166 minutes, approximately 2 hours and 46 minutes. If this duration is maintained by the production and confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery, it will be the longest film ever made by Villeneuve, narrowly surpassing Blade Runner 2049, which lasted 2 hours and 44 minutes. For the moment, the one regarding the duration of Dune Part 2 would only be an indiscretion, but the fact that it has been confirmed by authoritative publications such as Collider makes it rather reliable. The primary source, reshared by a user on X, is the Japanese Film Classification and Rating Organization’s dedicated sheet for the film. A few months ago, another rumor circulated that spoke of an even longer duration of around 3 hours and 15 minutes referring to the not-yet final editing of the film.
