Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon are in talks to join the cast of Oppenheimer the new Christopher Nolan film that Universal Pictures won a few weeks ago by beating numerous offers, including Apple TV+. According to reports from Deadline, the two actors, along with Emily Blunt, will act alongside Cillian Murphy. The latter will play the role of the protagonist in the film that will arrive on July 21, 2023. Nolan will produce with his wife Emma Thomas through their Syncope Inc. We also remember that Matt Damon has already starred for Nolan in Interstellar while for Robert Downey Jr. this will be the first experience on a set by the famous British director.

His new film will be a biopic dedicated to the father of the atomic bomb. Oppenheimer is described by Universal as follows: An epic thriller that catapults viewers into the heart-pounding paradox of an enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world to save it.
Shooting will begin in early 2022 and will take place on IMAX 65mm and 65mm film with Hoyte Van Hoytema (Tenet, Dunkirk and Interstellar) on photography, Jennifer Lame ( Tenet ) on editing and Ludwig Göransson ( Tenet ) on music. So now the English director will focus on his blockbuster on the Second World War, or more precisely on the creator of the atomic bomb; taking advantage of a $ 100 million budget made available to him by Universal.
