Doctor Who: Ncuti Gatwa Will Be The First Gay Doctor! Here Everything We Know
Neil Patrick Harris reveals that Doctor Who's 14th Doctor will be the first gay Doctor in the long-running British series!
Doctor Who is now one of the most historic TV series produced by the BBC born by the creators Sydney Newman, CE Webber and Donald Wilson in 1963, interrupted in 1989, and resumed starting in 2005. The new season is approaching and, as the production advances, more and more small spoilers and information come to the surface. Months ago it was announced that Ncuti Gatwa will play the new Doctor Who of the British sci-fi series, airing in 2023.
Doctor Who: The Next Doctor In The Series Will Be Black And Gay
Neil Patrick Harris, known for Doogie Howser, How I Met Your Mother, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, has revealed to Doctor Who fans that the new Doctor will be a Doctor never seen before. Next season’s co-star confessed on Variety’s Just for Variety podcast that Ncuti Gatwa will be the first openly gay Doctor. And there’s more, because as if that weren’t enough, the 14th Doctor will be queer, but also cooler and sexier. “I got to meet and interact with him a bit and he’s glorious,” says Harris. “He will be the first gay doctor, who will be super cool, a sexier doctor.”
Nothing will be the same again and the Sex Education star will wear a completely new guise in the history of TV series. Recall that in the past, the passing of the baton of the role of the Doctor involved artists and actors of great level such as Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker. The latter, known to the public for her role as Beth Latimer in Broadchurch, also represents the first female Doctor Who. It becomes more and more necessary to add diversity on the screen and Gatwa will be the first gay Doctor, but also the first Black Doctor.
