Damsel: Netflix Reveals the Release Date Of The Fantasy Film With Milly Bobby Brown!
Damsel here is a first look at Millie Bobby Brown as she prepares for the fight. Millie Bobby Brown, once again, will star in a project that will hopefully become a franchise. Following the success of Netflix’s Stranger Things and Enola Holmes, the young star is now looking to set up a couple more long-term projects at the streaming service. The first to be released will be the action-fantasy film Damsel, which has received a first picture.
The picture shows Millie Bobby Brown with a fierce look on her face and a sword in her hands. She seems to be in the middle of an action scene in a somewhat fiery environment, following the surrounding sparks. It’s a dynamic image, made all the more interesting when you consider that her adversary in the film is said to be a dragon.
Damsel Release Date and Story
The story follows Millie Bobby Brown’s character, a young princess named Elodie, who agrees to marry a rival prince. She soon discovers that her marriage was part of an ancient arrangement and that her new family has a dark secret: they sacrifice young women to a fire-breathing dragon every harvest season. And now it’s her turn. Believed dead, Princess Elodie discovers her warrior within her as she fights to survive. The title Damsel itself suggests that the film will turn fairy tale tropes upside down.
Damsel follows a string of recent feminist films set in medieval times and featuring brave young heroines, being part of a welcome trend in mainstream Hollywood, in which young women are cast as leads in genres that are normally considered “more” for men. Millie Bobby Brown proved how popular big-budget entertainment can be with teenage girls. After Stranger Things, she launched the Sherlock Holmes spin-off Enola Holmes and its sequel, Enola Holmes 2. Next, she will star in directors Joe and Anthony Russo’s second Netflix film, The Electric State, and will reprise her role as Eleven in the final season of Stranger Things.
One of them is Damsel, a film directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) and written by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) starring Stranger Things star Milly Bobby Brown. The release date of the fantasy, which will arrive on October 13th, 2023 has finally been revealed in the video. Produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Castaldi, the cast of the film is completed by the Golden Globe winner for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Brooke Carter and Shohreh Aghdashloo. The executive producers are instead Millie Bobby Brown, Robert Brown, Dan Mazeau, Zack Roth, and Sue Baden-Powell.
