In the second season of the spin-off of “Money Heist”, Berlin travels to Seville and goes on a date with Genoveva Dante, the Duchess of Malaga (Marta Nieto), but she takes him to her husband, Álvaro Hermoso de Medina (José Luis García-Pérez), who declares himself an admirer of his work and asks him to steal The Lady with an Ermine to complete his “personal collection” in exchange for not reporting it to the authorities. Berlin does not take blackmail well at all and orchestrates a plan to steal the precious works of the Duke of Malaga. Of course, he summons Keila (Michelle Jenner), Cameron (Begoña Vargas), Roi (Julio Peña Fernández), and Bruce (Joel Sánchez), who are ready to strike the next blow. However, your personal problems could become a problem in “Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine”.

Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine Ending Explained: What Happens to the Duke and Samuel?

While Keila and Bruce arrive together and more in love than ever, Cameron and Roi arrive separated and with little desire to be in the same room. Eventually, they reveal that although the first few days were idyllic, Cameron’s ex-boyfriend’s visit ruined everything. Even though she didn’t want to talk to her ex, Roi pressured her to stand up to him and end that story. That only helped her get back to the man who hurt her a lot. Although Keila and Bruce seem happy, she is cheating on him with a man she met at a party. He tries to end that clandestine romance, but fails. After the couple was caught by an employee of the Duke of Malaga while trying to recover a drone they owned, Keila decided to be honest with her boyfriend, but did not choose the best time to speak the truth.

The interference of Álvaro Hermoso de Medina’s peculiar employee accelerates Berlin’s plans, who determines that the robbery will occur that same night. While Cameron and Roi stay watching the kidnapped man, the rest sneak onto the Duke’s property and launch the great coup. Love problems complicate things, but everything goes relatively well. Although they have several valuable works of art on hand, Berlin decides not to steal them. Instead, he communicates with the Duke and summons him to his own vault. The leader of the gang explains that all this is proof of their loyalty, and they reach a deal to steal The Lady with the Ermine. Once again berlin’s real plan is to fool the aristocrat, but now he’s going for more; he also wants his “black money”.

What Happens to the Stolen Paintings?

One of the most important decisions of the finale is that Berlin does not keep the works of art. He could sell them, hide them, or use them as currency, but he decides to return them to the museums from which they were stolen. This detail is key to understanding the character in this season. Berlin is a thief, yes, but also someone who has a real fascination with art. For him, Álvaro is not a refined collector, but a vulgar hoarder who has turned unique works into private trophies. That is why the return of the paintings has a symbolic value. Berlin humiliates Álvaro, dismantles his empire, and, at the same time, returns those pieces to the place where they should be: exposed and protected, not hidden in a millionaire’s chamber.

Samuel’s Silent Betrayal?

The big twist in the outcome is in Samuel, Álvaro’s bodyguard. He discovers before anyone else that Berlin and his gang have set up a surveillance device, but decides not to rat them out. The reason is more personal than economic. Samuel is in love with Álvaro and feels displaced by his obsession with art, power, and his marriage to Genoveva. By allowing Berlin to move forward, Samuel causes the fall of everything that kept Álvaro on his pedestal. When Genevieve abandons the duke, and he loses his fortune, his collection, and his security, Samuel is left as the only person still by her side. His silence is not born from loyalty to Berlin, but from his own desire to finally occupy an important place in Álvaro’s life.

Does Cameron Die?

Yeah. Cameron dies in the season finale.

His death is the hardest blow for the band. After being discovered on a yacht, she is offered the chance to save herself if she betrays her companions, but she refuses. Despite his impulsive nature and the problems he has had with the group, at that time, he demonstrates absolute loyalty. Before dying, he leaves a voicemail for Roi in which he confesses that he was the love of her life. He also acknowledges that he lied about his feelings when they broke up. That confession comes too late and makes his death one of the saddest moments of the season. The gang wins the blow, but loses one of their own. And that loss makes clear that, in the world of Berlin, even the brightest victories come at a price.

Are Berlin and Candela Getting Married?

Yeah. The finale shows Berlin marrying Candela in an intimate ceremony attended by the surviving members of the band.

The wedding works as an emotional closing for the character. Berlin has had many relationships marked by desire, ego, and lies, but with Candela, there seems to be something different. She falls in love not only with the myth of the elegant thief, but also with the vulnerable man beneath. That Berlin decides to get married after everything that has happened does not mean that he has stopped being who he is, but it does suggest an unusual moment of calm in his life. For once, the character seems to choose something resembling happiness instead of sabotaging everything.

What Happens to Damian and Genevieve?

Genevieve abandons Álvaro after discovering the extent to which her husband was corrupted by power and greed. His relationship with Damián also finds a more hopeful way out. Damian reveals his true identity to him: he is not only a brilliant criminal, but also a professor of quantum physics. By inviting her to accompany him, he offers her a different life, far from Álvaro’s control and the golden cage in which she had been trapped for some time.

What Does The End Of “Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine” Mean?

While Cameron is in charge of investigating what is hidden behind the Duke of Malaga’s yacht business, Berlin and the rest of the gang move to the aristocrat’s property, since the money is hidden in a vault in the basement. But everything seems to indicate that accessing the loot is more complicated than they thought. On the other hand, Berlin meets a woman who steals his heart because she is so different. This is Candela (Inma Cuesta), who soon discovers her boyfriend’s plan. But Andrés is not the only one who has an affair. Damián refuses to accept the proposal of the Duchess, who, tired of her husband’s obsession with works of art, decides to look for love elsewhere.

Do Berlin and the Gang Manage to Rob the Duke?

A night walk allows Simón to discover a way to enter the vault and not die trying. The Duke himself shows him that, in addition to an alphanumeric code, he requires a scan of his iris to avoid the ring of fire. While they look for a way to overcome that barrier, Berlin begins to feel the first symptoms of his illness, and a reunion with Camille ruins his romance with Candela. Despite Berlin’s order, Cameron follows his impulses to discover what is hidden in the boat. The protagonist of “Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine” also commits something crazy: he tells his true story to Candela and asks her to marry him. Later, he meets with his brother (The Professor) to tell him the good news. He advises her to complete the original robbery and use it to avoid retaliation from the Duke.

Cameron obtains evidence of the drugs being transported on the Duke’s boats and sends it to the gang, but it is discovered and thrown into the sea. Meanwhile, the group carries out the great coup: stealing the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, the works of the aristocrat, and the money from his vault. Although Roi and Bruce suffer minor burns, Cameron dies, which is a serious blow to the band. At the end of “Berlin and the Lady with the Ermine”, Berlin gives his long-awaited painting to the Duke and assures him that he has several pieces of evidence against him. In addition, he returns the stolen works and marries Candela.

A Happy Ending, But With An Open Wound?

The season 2 finale of “Berlin” mixes triumph and loss. Álvaro is destroyed, the paintings return to their museums, the gang gets the hit, and Berlin finds unexpected stability with Candela. But Cameron’s death prevents everything from feeling like a complete victory. The series closes with a wedding, yes, but also with the absence of someone who did not survive the blow. In short, Berlin wins the game, but the ending reminds us that every great plan leaves victims along the way. And this time, the band not only takes money: they also bear a loss that they will hardly be able to forget.
