Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Next Big Leap – Gatta Kusthi 2
Fans have been waiting for what comes after the 2024 comedy‑hit Gatta Kusthi, and now the buzz is real: Aishwarya Lekshmi will be back on screen – and this time she’s also stepping into the producer’s shoes. The sequel, being helmed by Vishnu Vishal, will roll out under the banner of Vishnu Vishal Studios in partnership with Vels Film International.
The first Gatta Kusthi rode on a wacky premise – a man who ends up marrying a wrestler. The film’s most talked‑about moment was the interval fight where Aishwarya’s character turned the tables, taking down a horde of goons to rescue her hubby (Vishnu Vishal). That scene turned the heroine from a “just‑another‑love‑interest” into a legit action‑hero, and the audience loved it.
What’s Returning?
Karunas, Munishkanth, and Kaali Venkat – the comedy trio that kept the laughs rolling in the original are back to give us more of that quirky humour.
Vishnu Vishal – not only directing, but also sharing screen time with his on‑screen partner.
Aishwarya’s Recent trial
Aishwarya’s been busy across languages. In Tamil, she shone in the family‑drama Maaman opposite Soori, and even snagged a cameo in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life. On the Malayalam front, her last outing was Hello Mummy, a sweet‑ish romance that did modest business but proved her versatility.
Arjun Das and the “They Call Me OG” hype
While Aishwarya is gearing up for the Gatta Kusthi sequel, Arjun Das has been making waves in Pawan Kalyan’s 2024 action‑spectacle They Call Me OG. Director Sujeeth’s film follows the familiar gangster‑war formula – rival mobs battling for control of the Bombay port, blood‑spilling street fights, and families torn apart. What sets it apart is the stunt choreography: Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, and Kecha Khampakdee have put together set‑pieces that are anything but boring.
Why the Sequel Matters
The original Gatta Kusthi proved that a comedy can still pack an action punch when you give the heroine some muscle. By co‑producing the sequel, Aishwarya is not just acting; she’s taking charge of the creative direction, which could mean more robust fight scenes, tighter storytelling, and maybe even a fresh look at the wrestling‑culture angle.
What to Expect
More intense fight sequences – Expect Aishwarya’s character to get even tougher. Rumours suggest she’ll train in real‑life wrestling moves for authenticity.
A deeper love story – The sequel might finally explore the backstory of Vishnu’s character – why he chose a wrestler as a wife in the first place.
A dash of drama – With the returning comic trio, there’ll be plenty of laugh‑out‑loud moments to balance the action.
All in all, Gatta Kusthi 2 looks set to be a rollicking mix of laughs, punches, and heartfelt moments. If the first film taught us anything, it’s that Indian cinema can still surprise us with a heroine who can both charm the audience and kick ass when the script calls for it.
So, keep an eye on the release dates and maybe brush up on some wrestling moves – you never know when you’ll need to join the fight!
