Wingwomen Ending Explained: What Really Happened to Carole?

The ending of Wingwomen has perhaps been one of the most unexpected and successful twists in the world of cinema. But let’s take it one step at a time. The three thieves are struggling with their last heist and after taking possession of the painting, Carole decides to go to Madrina to give her the loot and free herself from her. When she arrives at the palace where godmother awaits her, she will see the woman with a new cut and hair color, identical to hers. Godmother doesn’t want to let Carole go at all and shows that she is in a certain sense obsessed with her. From the window of the building in front of her, however, there is her trusted friend Alex ready to protect her from afar in case of need. When Madrina asks Carole to move into the room next to her and cover all the windows to block Alex’s view, the two friends understand that something is wrong and that perhaps it is an ambush. Threatened by danger, Carole decides to give directions to Alex to make her fire blind shots and hit the guards and the Godmother herself who will be fatally shot.

Before dying, however, Madrina will tell Carole that she will end up like her and that is exactly what happens because when the police arrive, Carole is surrounded and then killed leaving Alex shocked by what happened. The story seems to end here but it resumed three years after that terrible event. We see Sam go to visit Alex who, in the meantime, has retired from her work as a thief, and asks her to do one last heist together. Alex is hesitant but then she accepts her and while she is taken to the place where the coup is planned, she will see a little girl in front of her who will say her name is Raule. At this point, we understand that she is the child Carole was pregnant with and that she gave her the name that Alex herself had chosen. How is it possible that she was born if Carole was killed? Well, it was all a setup because Carole is still alive and she faked her death, even to her same friend, to be able to be free and experience motherhood without being chased by criminals. The film ends with a hug between the two friends.

Is Carole Really Dead?

Don’t worry! Carole did not die at the end of “Thieves,” but rather she pulled off a cunning ruse to free herself from her engagement to the boss she worked for in Paris. In a clever twist, she planned to fake her death and have her friend Alex kill the Godmother, although she knew she would still be in danger due to the enemies she had made in her life. The story jumps in time and shows us Sam and Alex visiting a house in the middle of nowhere, where they meet a girl named Raoule. Surprisingly, this was the name Alex had chosen for Carole’s baby. Then, Carole appears and greets her friend, revealing that she hadn’t died at all, but rather that she had been living in secret all these years.

Who Was the Man Carole Had Spoken to on the Phone?

The mysterious man Carole spoke to on the phone remains a mystery, but it is clear that he played a crucial role in Carole’s plan. His true identity is open to interpretation, as he could be Raoule’s biological father, or simply a professional associate of Carole. However, his power is undeniable, as he managed to orchestrate an elaborate hoax that included the simulation of Carole’s death by a group of police forces in the middle of the shooting in Paris.

Why Did Carole Decide to Have Her Daughter?

Carole’s decision to have her daughter, Raoule, was a choice that presented her with numerous challenges from the beginning. At first, Carole was unsure if she should go ahead with the pregnancy, as her lifestyle as a thief was dangerous and complex. Furthermore, she would face motherhood alone, since Raoule’s conception was the product of a chance encounter. However, as the story develops, the three friends, Carole, Alex, and Sam, decide to raise Raoule together. This decision demonstrates the deep bond of friendship and complicity they share and reflects her determination to provide Raoule with a loving and safe environment despite the challenges they will face.
