Unsolved Mysteries Season 3 Episode 9: What Happened to Ahmed Kandil and Azis Khan? From Abducted by a Parent!
The third season of Unsolved Mysteries closes with the case of Amina Kandil, Belel Kandil and Aziz Khan, which have to do with the kidnapping of children by one of their parents. The third and final part of season 3 began with the strange disappearance and death of a man named Patrick Mullins, who was found with a gunshot wound and an anchor tied to his body in a river near his home, then goes on to a chapter supernatural, and ends with a kidnapping story that goes by the title of Abducted by a Parent or Kidnapped by a father.
The chapter begins with the case of the Kandil children, who were kidnapped by their religious extremist father after he separated from his wife, while the second case is that of a woman who took her son and disappeared, leaving her husband desperate for answers and to get the child back. Aside from the Tiffany Valiante case, this is one of the most disturbing of the season.
Unsolved Mysteries Season 3 Episode 9: What Happened to Ahmed Kandil?
Rebecca Downey met Ahmed Kandil when they were both in college and, although they had different religions, the two quickly hit it off and decided to get married soon after, soon having their children, Amina, who was born in 2003, and Belel, who was born three years later, with whom they lived in Boston. Everything started well for the family, but soon he was fired from his job, the couple began to have problems and their story ended with a divorce in 2013. Ahmed visited his children regularly, so Rebecca did not find it strange that he wanted to go for them on August 28, 2014, to make a trip to Toronto to see his family for a few days.
That day, Ahmed Kandil went to pick up his children from his ex-wife’s house and that was the last time she saw them. Upon investigation, Rebecca discovered that Ahmed had emptied her house and authorities found records that he and the children had taken a flight to Turkey. Ahmed kidnapped the children, and although it is not known for sure, everything indicates that he took them to Egypt, where he grew up and where it is believed that he could have taken them to educate them in a religious and extremist way.
Supposedly, Rebecca received an email where Ahmed simply told her that the children were fine, that he decided to take them because he thought that she would not allow him to see them and that he would allow them to contact her once they were old enough. The FBI has issued a warrant for Ahmed’s arrest, but no one knows where he is, and if he is indeed in Egypt, there isn’t much that can be done to stop him.
What Happened to Aziz Khan?
The second case presented in the chapter is that of Abdul Khan and Rabia Khalid, a couple who had their first child, Aziz Khan, in 2010. As in the case of the Kandils, things were going well between Abdul and Rabia, but in 2014 they decided to separate according to Abdul, the two were looking for a way to recover their relationship at first, but later they started having problems and to fight for custody of the child.
It was Abdul who received custody of Aziz, but she accused him of being abusive and the boy stayed with his mother, the court conducted an investigation and determined that the accusations were not true, so Rabia should return the boy to his father. Rabia Khalid never made it to court on the 2017 date she was supposed to return Aziz to his father, it is believed that she and her new partner kidnapped the boy and took him out of the country, but it is not known where and there are no clues. about what happened to him after he was kidnapped. Currently, Abdul is still looking for his son, but there is no progress or news about the case.
