Yellowjackets Season 3: Revealed the Shocking Trailer for its Third Season
Showtime has released the first trailer for Yellowjackets Season 3, the series that follows a women’s soccer team whose life changes radically after surviving a plane crash in a remote location. As they try to rebuild their lives 25 years later, the past and the dark secrets they keep return to face a reality they never left behind. The production of the American channel Showtime and the service Paramount+ follows the story of a group of teenagers who survive a plane crash and are forced to make very drastic decisions while stranded in Canada’s vast forests. This Saturday, direct from the panel dedicated to news from Paramount + in the CCXP which is being held this weekend in São Paulo (Brazil), we get the first extended preview of the expected third season of Yellowjackets. We remember that his first two episodes will be available in the United States on February 14, 2025 (Paramount+), as always, two days before his television debut (Showtime).
In the absence of an official synopsis, which we do not yet have, we know little about the new season, only that it will start right after the fateful events with which the second ended and that Hilary Swank has joined the cast as recurring and regular potential in the future. The actor Joel McHale (Animal Control) will also appear in his new episodes as a guest. Currently, neither Lewis nor Purnell are part of the regular cast of Yellowjackets; although the latter will have an appearance as a guest through the ghost of the late Jackie who torments Shauna both in her adolescence and in her youth. The third season is expected to explore the consequences of recent traumatic events in the lives of survivors, revealing how these moments can affect their personal development, both positively and negatively. A clear example is the experiences of Shauna, marked by the loss of your baby and her best friend, or the symbolic transfer of Lottie’s leadership to Nat.
Yellowjackets Season 3: Trailer and Cast
Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins and Simone Kessell protagonist this third season, accompanied by the guest star
Many of the questions that overwhelmed viewers from the start continued unanswered after season two, so the following episodes could begin to give further explanations for why characters in the future made those decisions and preferred those paths. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (the minds behind Narcos), television fiction transits between the 90s and the current time, that is, almost 25 years after the events that young women lived in the depths of nature. Although most have been able to continue their lives, the past will always find a way to return and torment them again for what they did. The plot addresses themes such as violence, cannibalism, trauma, loss, and adaptation. Furthermore, it is defined as a drama of psychological horror and survival.
Misty, Natalie, Taissa, and Shauna are four of the (unfortunate) lucky members of a women’s youth soccer team who survived a plane crash in the middle of nowhere. What happened there until they were rescued, only they know. Twenty-five years later, each one has built her own life, and nobody wants to talk about what happened. But some secrets cannot be kept forever. While some insist on settling outstanding accounts, others will do whatever it takes to keep what happened locked up. The series narrates his survival odyssey, from his early days thriving as a team to separating into wild and ruthless clans, and the consequences it had for each of them years later. Jumping from one era to another in an acid mix of genres ranging from psychological terror to action and youth drama, ‘Yellowjackets’ demonstrates, once again, that the past never stays in the past and that what started deep in the woods is far from over…
Notably, the series has been nominated for an Emmy since its release. At the 2022 Awards, Melanie Lynskey was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series while Christina Ricci received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the same category. At the 2023 ceremony, she continued to reap nominations, with Lynskey again standing out as a candidate in the Best Leading Actress category in a Drama Series. In addition to this, it has been twice among the contenders for Best Dramatic Series, being surpassed on both occasions by Succession.
