What If…? Release Date and Story What We Know Till Now About Marvels’s Anime Series
It is clear that the Marvel television series have come to Disney + to stay. So far we have been able to see ‘Wanda and Vision‘ , ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘ and ‘Loki’ , all of them with characters already known to fans of the MCU, thus creating little less than the need to see them to keep up to date with this universe of superheroes . However, ‘What if …?’ is going the other way, since it is committed to animation to explore alternative scenarios of several stories already told within this multi million-dollar franchise as of this Wednesday, August 11 worldwide from USA, UK, India, China and other.
As Marvel Studios says through a press release, the series “reinvents the main moments of the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What If …? Creates a multiverse of infinite possibilities populated by some fan favorite characters such as Peggy Carter, T’Challa, Doctor Strange, Killmonger, Thor and more. Directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as lead writer, the new series tells us what would happen if the well-known MCU stories took a different turn. All The Clues And Possible Stories From Its First Trailer
Peggy Carter as Captain Britain
The trailer shows Tony Stark’s superscientist father, Howard Stark, observing the machine that allowed Steve Rogers to transform into Captain America, but this time it is Strategic Scientific Reserve agent Peggy Carter who is imbued with that power. Again, it appears that the experiment was only able to produce one Super Soldier, so Peggy takes on the role of Captain Britain to help turn the tide of WWII with her incredible speed, strength, and stamina.
T’Challa Abducted
In Guardians of the Galaxy, a young Peter Quill was kidnapped by Yondu Udonta, who raised him as his own son rather than giving Quill to his Heavenly father, Ego. Here is the young prince T’Challa of Wakanda who is kidnapped, leading him to become the space outlaw Star-Lord instead of Black Panther. In this reality, it is possible that Ego, not T’Chaka, is T’Challa’s father, or that Yondu had some other motive for the kidnapping.
Strange Symbols
We see a haggard-looking doctor Stephen Strange with no beard and a recent head injury studying a series of floating arcane symbols and then falling to the ground. It is possible that he is destined to be right after the car accident that robbed him of his ability to practice surgery and that instead of being accepted as a student of the Elder at Kamar-Taj, he is studying magic on his own, with some disastrous results.
Steve Rogers Iron Man
The comics ‘What If …?’ They weren’t the only Marvel stories set in an alternate universe. In J. Michael Straczynski’s Bullet Points series, Dr. Abraham Erskine dies before transforming Steve Rogers into a super soldier. Instead, Steve volunteers to be a part of Project Iron Man and is surgically grafted into a suit to fight the Nazis. It seems that this story is being integrated into the plot of Peggy Carter, as she is putting on the first Iron Man suit in battle.
Loki at the United Nations
We briefly see Loki being escorted by guards with shields and dressed in versions of his own costume to what appears to be a meeting of the United Nations. This strongly implies that Loki has finally managed to conquer Asgard, or even Earth as well. But it’s also possible that this is an alternate timeline tied to the Loki series, as the trailer for that series seems to lean heavily towards time travel.
Uatu, the Watcher
Uatu the Watcher (voiced by Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright) is an extremely powerful and ancient alien tasked with monitoring life on Earth from his home on the Moon. He was already the narrator of the comic series What If …? and it seems to serve the same purpose in the television series.
Uatu made his first appearance in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s The Fantastic Four # 13 (1963). He was a member of an advanced alien race, the Watchers, who set out to observe and record life in the galaxy. But they took an oath never to interfere in the affairs of a planet. Uatu was assigned to Earth and its Solar System. While observing Earth from his base on the Moon, Uatu couldn’t help but grow fond of its inhabitants and its heroes.
He met the Fantastic Four during one of his initial adventures. It allowed them to maintain awareness of its existence and began to interact and even help the team. However, Uatu crossed the line by intervening the first time Galactus came to devour the Earth. (He eventually meddled in the affairs of humanity hundreds of times. The guy can’t help it). This interference was against everything the Watchers stood for, and Uatu faced the consequences.
