In addition to series like The Girl from the Vatican, about the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, and movies like The Good Nurse, about the case of a serial killer nurse, Unsolved Mysteries exploits the obsession with True Crime, and with this final part of the Season 3 features a mystery titled Body in the Bay.
The 7th episode of the season comes after the cases of the disappearance of Tiffany Valiante and the death of Buffalo Jim and tells the story of a man named Patrick Mullins, who disappeared in 2013 and was never seen alive again new. This season also featured some supernatural cases, but the best ones are the ones that focus on real people, like Mullins.
Unsolved Mysteries Season 3 Episode 7: What Happened to Patrick Mullins?
According to Netflix, Patrick Mullins was a school teacher and librarian who, in his spare time, enjoyed going out on the river with his little boat, and that’s just what he did on January 27, 2013. That day, Patrick went out to the river near his home in Tampa Bay but never came back (he had promised to help his wife move some furniture, so she was hoping he would come home soon). The next day, the boat was found with no sign of Patrick (and with the engine still running) and no one seemed to know what had happened to him, until nine days after his disappearance his body was found floating in the water, a long way from where he was. his boat was found by the Coast Guard.
Upon reviewing the body, the Coast Guard discovered that Patrick Mullins had been shot in the head and that someone had tried to hide the body, as he had an anchor strapped to his waist, probably as a measure to keep him from floating. At one point it was thought that it may have been a suicide, but the clues pointed in the opposite direction and the fact that no blood was found on the boat was an indicator that Patrick Mullins had not died there.
Patrick had been murdered, even with evidence like the gunshot wound and the anchor around the body, the authorities were unable to determine what had happened to him, but his family thought his death might be related to some secret, as Patrick began to show signs that he was under a lot of stress before his death. Part of the problem with the Patrick Mullins case was that a lot of evidence was lost or washed away (the gun was never found), so there were a lot of missing items that could have helped figure out how he got to where he was. They found.
One theory is that a close friend, named Damon Crestwood, may have had something to do with Patrick’s death. The series says that he began behaving strangely after Mullins’ death, but he died of an apparent overdose a few years later and never revealed if he knew anything. For now, the case is still open, but there is no news or anything to indicate who could be the culprit. The most important thing is to determine what happened while Patrick was in the river and if he ran into anyone along the way who might have seen something that would help solve the case or point authorities in the right direction.
