Thunderbolts: The First Image Reveals The 7 Team Members and Cast Revealed
The lineup of the Marvel team, the Thunderbolts, has been revealed. The film will be directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank) and based on a screenplay by Eric Pearson (Black Widow). The Thunderbolts have had a wide range of characters throughout the comics, often led by General Ross aka the Red Hulk. While the roster is constantly evolving, the name remains a symbol of a team made up of villains and anti-heroes, ready to take on missions that require their presence.
Thunderbolts First Images and Star Cast
The film was initially announced at Comic-Con, dating the film to July 26, 2024. Neither cast nor team members had been nominated at the time. The team’s full roster has now been revealed, drawing from all corners of the MCU, including films and series like Ant-Man and The Wasp, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Black Widow. At D23, Feige announced the full lineup of the Thunderbolts, which includes Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbor), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John- Kamen) and Taskmaster, all led by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss).
In a concept art shown to promote the team, all members appear. The Thunderbolts have always shared a similar vibe to DC’s Suicide Squad, although fans shouldn’t expect an R-rated version within the MCU. However, they are meant to be more edgy than the Avengers, taking on missions outside the standard superhero world. Although General Ross is not shown (William Hurt passed away earlier this year), it is possible that Red Hulk may appear somehow. No villain has been announced yet, there’s a lot to reveal, but for now, fans can be thrilled to see some of their favorite characters unite under the Thunderbolts banner.
