The Wheel of Time: Release Date and Star Cast What We Know So Far About Amazon Fantasy Series
The Wheel of Time: The Amazon Series That Will Be A Better Game Of Thrones
Forget the Game of Thrones prequels, The Wheel of Time is what should really have you excited, and it promises to become one of the best series of the year once it hits streaming. Game of Thrones was not just a series, it was a social phenomenon that had millions of people around the world watching the same thing every weekend, naming their babies as the best characters and obsessing over every detail. That is something that does not happen much with the series, but everyone wants to achieve it and Amazon Prime has at least two projects that could achieve it: the new Lord Of The Rings Series (which will supposedly be the most expensive series ever created) and the adaptation of The Wheel of Time.
A couple of months ago Amazon revealed a teaser of just a few seconds in which they announced the series and the participation of actress Rosamund Pike (from Gone Girl and I Care A Lot from Netflix ) as the protagonist, but that video did not show too much or confirm the release date simply hinted that something big was coming, and San Diego Comic Con 2021 brought out more details.
When is The Wheel of Time Released?
According to the poster that was shared during Comic Con, Wheel of Time will be streaming in 19 November 2021. The series comes later than expected, but Rafe Judkins, the showrunner, said that “The good thing about [the production quarantine] is that now we will have all eight scripts in preparation for season 2, which will allow us to do a better job and it will allow me to focus more on the scripts and editing that we are doing right now because we weren’t filming.” The second season of the series has already been confirmed, so there are many to see in this story.

What is The Wheel of Time About?
Magic, mythology, apocalyptic prophecies and struggles for power, the story of the novel has the elements that made the world hook with series like Game of Thrones, The Witcher or Shadow and Bone, but in its own style and creating a world fantastic. There are ancient civilizations and a race of witches, called Aes Sedai, a group of fanatics called The Children of Light (who are dedicated to fighting witchcraft) and a mysterious villain named Shai’tan who causes more problems than you can imagine.
Moiraine, the protagonist, belongs to the Aes Sedai witch clan and the story begins when she arrives at a place called Two Rivers, after she learns that there are evil forces looking for a Reborn Dragon (which is not exactly a dragon) mentioned in ancient prophecies.
The dragon that is spoken of is actually a magician (who arrives in a world where women are the ones who dominate magic) who has the power to save the world, but also to destroy it if it falls into the wrong hands.
