The Watchers Movie: The Trailer of The Disturbing Fantasy Horror Starring Dakota Fanning

Warner Bros. has released online the first teaser trailer for The Watchers Movie, a film written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of the Oscar-nominated director, and based on the novel by AM Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who finds herself stranded and isolated in a vast, pristine forest in the west of Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped with three strangers who are spied on and haunted by mysterious creatures every night. You can’t see them, but they see everything. The Watchers stars Dakota Fanning (Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, Ocean’s 8), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, Suspicion), Oliver Finnegan (Creeped Out Scary Tales, Outlander), and Olwen Fouere (The Northman, The Tourist).

It is her debut film, although Ishana has already had some experience as a director supported by her father. The 19-year-old screenwriter in the series Servant and also director of several episodes of the Apple TV series, or collaborating, for example as assistant director of the second unit in Knock at the Cabin, both directed by her father, M. Night Shyamalan. Additionally, she has made video clips for her sister Della Saleka, a rhythm, and blues singer-songwriter. In The Watchers, his father also intervenes as one of the producers. So, for now, everything remains in the family, and hoping that his debut brings us the definitive birth of a new talent in the genre.

Based on the novel by AM Shine, its main character is Mina, a 28-year-old artist who is stranded in a remote forest located in the west of Ireland. A place that does not appear on any map. Dakota Fanning, who we recently saw in The Equalizer 3, plays the protagonist, Mina.

As for the rest of the cast, there will also be Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) and the veteran Olwen Fouéré (The Man from the North), along with other names, most of them young, and others not so young, but with little resume yet, such as Oliver Finnegan (The Chronicles of Fear), Anthony Morris (The Green Knight), Jacob Greenway, Charles Mann, Jim Tighe, Shane O’Regan and Hannah Howland. Siobhan Hewlett plays Mina’s mother, and the very young Irish actress Hannah Dargan plays the same protagonist as a child.
