The Walking Dead- Dead City: The First Photos And The Release Date Date! Featuring Maggie and Negan
AMC Networks has released the first official images and the arrival date of the spin-off The Walking Dead– Dead City on Maggie and Negan (with Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan), titled The Walking Dead– Dead City. Announced in March with the title Isle of the Dead, the new series, which will debut in 2023 on AMC, sees the enemy-allies played by Cohan and Morgan “traveling in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long isolated from the mainland. The ruined city is full of undead and inhabitants who have made New York City their world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror”.
The Walking Dead- Dead City: First Look and Release Date
The first images of Dead City, which Cohan and Morgan unveiled on Saturday during The Walking Dead’s NYCC panel, show that their rivalry is still deeply felt when Maggie points her knife at Negan’s throat. The network also announced that the first six-episode season of The Walking Dead: Dead City will debut in April 2023 on AMC and AMC+. As told by Lauren Cohan, Dead City will focus on “the two most unlikely people you want to see together”.
“It makes it very good to see us together because it is the most difficult situation that we [Maggie and Negan] have to find ourselves in, and the need is greater than the fear,” she said. Morgan added: “We are proud of it, and we think you will like it“.
TWD: Dead City cast includes Gaius Charles (Grey’s Anatomy) as Perlie Armstrong, Karina Ortiz (Orange Is the New Black) as Amaia, Mahina Napoleon (NCIS: Hawai’i) as Ginny, Jonathan Higginbotham (The Blacklist) in the role of Tommaso, Trey Santiago-Hudson (New Amsterdam) in the role of Jano and Zeljko Ivanek (Madam Secretary) in the role of “The Croat”.

The latest episodes of The Walking Dead aired on AMC+ and will conclude with the series finale on November 21st. The Walking Dead: Dead City will debut in April 2023. Dead City won’t be the only spin-off to debut in 2023 on AMC and AMC+. It will come along with two new spin-off shows that will expand the Walking Dead universe: Daryl Dixon and Rick & Michonne.
