The Old Man Disney+: Jeff Bridges is one of the many Hollywood stars who recently accepted the challenge of putting themselves to the test with a television role. The Oscar winner for Crazy Heart will be the protagonist of The Old Man, a drama by the creators of Black Sails Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine. Photos released by the streaming service offer a close look at the characters.
The Old Man: The Plot And The Cast Of The Series
Based on Thomas Perry’s novel of the same name, The Old Man tells the story of Dan Chase, the character played by Bridges, a man who lives as a fugitive after escaping the CIA several decades earlier. When a hitman arrives trying to kill Chase, the “old agent” realizes that to secure his future he must reconcile with his past.
Hunting him is FBI Deputy Director of Counterintelligence Harold Harper (Emmy winner for his roles in Dexter and The Crown John Lithgow). Alongside him are his protege, Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat , Search Party) and CIA Special Agent Raymond Waters (EJ Bonilla , Unforgettable). When Chase becomes harder to capture than authorities expected, Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe, The Deuce), a highly trained Special Forces professional, is also tasked with capturing him. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman , The Leftovers ), who, in order to survive after learning the truth about her new tenant, will realize she has resources she didn’t know she had. Among the protagonists of the series also Bill Heck (Locke & Key), Leem Lubany (Condor) and Pej Vahdat (City on a Hill).
