The Last of Us Season 2: Trailer Out Now and Release Date of the HBO Series Out Now?
The Last of Us Season 2, the second season of The Last of Us is coming after the first chapter’s action-packed adaptation of the HBO video game. The first season proved to be a success: Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey provided hypnotic interpretations in the shoes of Joel and Ellie. The chemistry between the two is unique and credible and progresses to each episode, while the protagonists form a powerful bond in a post-apocalyptic world. Unlike many zombie series and video game adaptations, The Last of Us invests a lot of time in the drama of its characters, offering compelling studies that lead to a memorable ending (e rather shocking).
The final of the first season prepares the second season of The Last of Us in many ways, starting from the shocking dilemma of Joel, who chooses to prioritize life with Ellie rather than humanity after discovering the plan of fireflies. While Joel kills many people who try to stop him in the hospital, it seems that his actions will have consequences, given that a firefly managed to escape. Given that The Last of Us II takes five years in the future, it will be interesting to see how writers and showrunners will adapt the starting material again for the second season of The Last of Us.
The Last of Us Season 2 Trailer Out Now
The new trailer for The Last of Us Season 2 reveals episodes and premiere dates, but from the recent promotional material, an important detail emerges that is worth underlining. And that, if you think about it, it could greatly distort a narrative detail that was perfect in the video game. Watch out for spoilers! The trailer opens with a scene inside a hospital: the setting looks just like the one that appeared in the finale of the first season of The Last of Us, or the operational base of the Lights that Joel and Ellie manage to reach, except to discover that Marlene intends to kill the girl to study the properties of her brain. Immediately afterward, we see, presumably in the same scene, the face of the great new entry of the next season: Abby. In short, we are led to believe that the trailer opens with one of the main twists and turns of the Naughty Dog video game, that is the sequence in which it turns out that Abby is the daughter of the doctor Joel killed in cold blood to save Ellie.
In the subsequent scenes of the trailer, we see Abby in tears before a grave. The point is this: in the original work, Abby’s revelation of the past comes at a very advanced stage in history, a moment perfectly marked in the narration of the video game. After the first phase of the adventure in which, from Ellie’s perspective, we saw Abby as a ruthless and violent character who committed a horrible murder, we learn that in reality the girl was moved by an understandable feeling of revenge against Joel, who on the other hand had made a real massacre thinking exclusively of their feelings. Since the second season will adapt only part of the story, with the conclusion of Ellie and Joel’s journey postponed to other future seasons, the doubt is as follows: What if the HBO series decides to change the structure of the story, immediately showing us Abby’s motivation rather than revealing them later?
