The Last of Us Episode 2: First Images from Episode 2 There Is Also an Infected!
HBO has released some new official images taken from the second episode of the series, with the first look at the Infected.
HBO has released a preview of some new images taken from The Last of Us Episode 2, which will be broadcast on January 22nd. In the images, we can also take a first look at one of the fearsome zombies/infected. At the bottom of the news, you will find the preview images of The Last of Us Episode 2, entitled “Infected“. The images show an encounter with the Infected and an unnamed woman (actress Christine Hakim) in what appears to be a laboratory, suggesting that the source of the Cordyceps infection could potentially be revealed.
Unlike in the video game, the trigger mushroom in HBO’s The Last of Us is not spread via airborne spores. Instead, another explanation, not yet revealed, will be given for the fungal apocalypse that could be explained in the second episode.

“Obviously, there are some big things that we know we kept [from the video game], but then there are challenges in transitioning from game to series that needed to be addressed,” series co-creator and showrunner Craig told ComicBook. In the world we’re creating, if we put spores in the air, it would be pretty clear they would spread everywhere, and everyone would have to wear a mask all the time. The images in question are also the first meeting between our protagonists and the Infected of the series. In the photo, one of these is portrayed from the back and has all the air of being one of the Clickers that fans of the video game know very well. The other images portray the trio made up of Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Tess (Anna Torv), plus a mysterious character played by Christine Hakim, who according to the latest rumors could shed light on the cause of the spread of the fungus caused the pandemic (remember that the HBO adaptation does not have spores).
