There is great anticipation for The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray, the Apple limited series produced and starring Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson and based on the acclaimed novel by best-selling author Walter Mosley, who edited the adaptation for the screen and is also an executive producer. The gripping six – episode series dealing with the themes of family, memory and legacy will be released worldwide on Friday 11th March on Apple TV+. The direction is entrusted to Ramin Bahrani, nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay of The White Tiger.
The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray: Story Plot
Created by Apple Studios, the show stars Samuel L. Jackson as Ptolemy Gray, a sick 93-year-old forgotten by his family, friends and even himself. Suddenly left without his trusty caretaker and on the verge of sinking even further into lonely dementia, Ptolemy is placed in the care of teenage orphan Robyn, played by BAFTA nominee Dominique Fishback (seen in the award-winning feature film Judas and the Black Messiah).
When they learn of a treatment that can restore the confused memories of Ptolemy’s dementia, they embark on a journey to shocking truths about the past, present and future in search of the truth about the death of his grandson.
