The Flash: Superman and Wonder Woman Cameos Cancelled?

The Flash was supposed to be the first chapter in an entirely new phase of the DC Comics cinematic universe. It was going to reintroduce Michael Keaton as Batman and reconfigure DC continuity through the use of time travel and alternate timelines. (The film is based on a comic book storyline called “Flashpoint,” in which a character travels to the past and rewrites DC history.) The film would later lead into future DC cinematic installments with Batgirl to co-star Keaton’s Batman. The Flash also features cameos from Superman and Wonder Woman.

But once James Gunn and Peter Safran became the new CEOs of DC Studios, they began to reshape the future of DC films and throw the previous regime’s plans out the window. (The Batgirl movie was canceled by Warner Bros. before Gunn and Safran even showed up.) In recent weeks, new bosses have halted development on Wonder Woman 3 and pulled Henry Cavill’s Superman just two months after his release. surprise return in a post-credits scene in Black Adam.

The changes and revisions continue. A new article in The Hollywood Reporter claims that Cavill and Gal Gadot ‘s cameos in The Flash will both be removed from the film since Cavill’s Man of Steel 2 and Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 are no longer moving forward.

The Release Date of The Flash

The Flash continues to be one of the most unfortunate – or perhaps most chaotic – Hollywood productions of recent years. Delayed several times, its star, Ezra Miller, starred in so much controversy and scandal that industry figures have openly speculated whether Warner Bros. should delay the film again. Another hypothesis is that of cancellation. So far, they’ve kept going and the film remains on track for release next year, but as this latest news shows, The Flash, like its history timeline, is still evolving. The Flash will be released in theaters on June 16, 2023.
