The Flash Season 9: Will Be the Last Season and Final Season Coming In 2023
Production of The Flash Season 9, the final season of the beloved DC series, will begin in September and its debut is scheduled for 2023. The season will consist of 13 episodes. Grant Gustin, Candice Patton and Danielle Panabaker will be the only remaining original cast members, while we know that Jesse L. Martin has left the role of series regular to direct an NBC pilot. With Gustin signing a new contract in January to continue playing Barry/the Scarlet Sprinter, the longest-running series of the Arrowverse got a season 9 renewal.
“Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City by taking audiences on an emotional journey filled with heart, humor and entertainment,” said series executive producer and showrunner Eric Wallace. “And now Barry Allen has reached the starting point for his last race. So many amazing people have given their talent, their time, and their love to bring this wonderful show to life every week. So, as we prepare to honor the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to thank our phenomenal cast, writers, producers and crew who over the years have helped make ‘The Flash’ a such an unforgettable experience for audiences all over the world “.
The Flash Season 9 Will Be The Last Season
In several recent TVLine interviews with cast members and guest stars, it became clear that the eighth season of The Flash – which ended on June 29 – was supposed to be the show’s last chapter, to the point that the renovation was a surprise to some. ” I will say that I was very surprised to know that another season was planned,” Panabaker said. “Emotionally, at least me, I thought season 8 would be the last. But I’m grateful to the show and the fans, and I hope there are more stories to tell”.
At the end of its ninth season, The Flash will be one of the longest-running CW shows ever, especially when you consider the series that originated exclusively on The CW. The Flash is also the longest-running of The CW’s modern DC shows, having surpassed products such as Arrow (eight seasons) and Legends of Tomorrow (seven seasons). The Flash remained consistently popular throughout its duration and ended its eighth season as one of The CW’s most-watched shows, as well as one of the most streamed titles. With its wrap-up, the only DC shows currently airing on The CW are Superman & Lois, Stargirl, and the upcoming Gotham Knights series.
