Warner Bros. Pictures released the first official trailer for the Ezra Miller– starring DC film The Flash during this year’s Super Bowl. With this exclusive material, we also get a first look at the return of Michael Keaton’s Batman. After being cast in 2014 for the role of Barry Allen, it took almost ten years for Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie to be made. The project went through numerous stages of development and gained and lost several directors.
The Super Bowl leaves us the first proper preview of the Andy Muschietti film that promises to be a show for DC fans. Super Bowl LVII was held this morning, the most media event of the year where numerous productions take the opportunity to launch their respective trailers. Among those who have taken the plunge this year, we have The Flash, one of the key movies in turning the tide of the DC Universe. Ezra Miller returns as the Scarlet Speedster in more ways than one in the new adaptation of the Flashpoint comics. However, the actor and his character take a back seat in the trailer, which brings back a true DC legend. Let’s see it. The trailer also salvages Danny Elfman’s iconic soundtrack from the early ’90s movies for the Caped Crusader who, of course, isn’t the trailer’s only star.
The Flash Movie Trailer: Ben Affleck and Supergirl Is Coming
It wasn’t until Andy Muschietti came aboard the DCEU chapter that Barry’s solo adventure began to take shape. Loosely based on the Flashpoint comic book storyline, The Flash will explore Barry’s journey across the multiverse. While he initially tries to go back in time to save his mother from her horrific death, The Flash instead arrives in an alternate reality. Though it’s been nearly a decade, The Flash movie will officially hit theaters this summer. As promised by the studio itself, Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for the multiverse focused DCEU film. This is the first footage released after the DC Fandome 2021 video.
In addition to being able to enjoy Michael Keaton in the Batman suit again, The Flash brings us Sasha Calle as Supergirl and the return of Michael Shannon as General Zod. With the DC Universe preparing a very different future when it comes to comic book adaptations, The Flash marks a turning point for many of these characters. The fate of characters such as the new Supergirl, Affleck and Keaton’s Batman or that of Ezra Miller himself as Flash has yet to be defined since it has not been confirmed with certainty who of them will continue in the future plans of DC Studios under the mandate of James Gunn and Peter Safran. Be that as it may, The Flash leaves us with a very promising first trailer for a film that is going to gather a good handful of stars.
The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Bumblebee’s Christina Hodson. The film’s cast also includes Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, who replaces Billy Crudup as Barry’s father following his appearance in Justice League. Sasha Calle also shows up as Supergirl. Social media stars Rudy Mancuso and Saoirse-Monica Jackson are also attached to the project in undisclosed roles. The Flash is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 16, 2023.
