The Fall of the House of Usher: Release Date and First Images from Mike Flanagan’s Netflix Horror Series Out
The first poster and first promotional photos from the awaited new Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher have been unveiled. Filming has wrapped on The Fall of the House of Usher, a new miniseries from The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass creator Mike Flanagan, and Netflix has just released the first images of it, which arrive via an Entertainment Weekly exclusive. Created, written, and co-directed by Flanagan, the miniseries is an adaptation of the homonymous short story by Edgar Allan Poe and the cast is really interesting. Among the performers, we find Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, T’nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, Michael Trucco, Henry Thomas, and Mark Hamill. The first images, which you can see at the bottom of our article, offer a first look at the protagonists, and the locations of great production value and immerse you in a truly disturbing, not to mention terrifying, atmosphere.
The Fall of the House of Usher: Release Date and First Images Out
One of the most striking images from The Fall of the House of Usher shows Rahul Kohli with his face covered in blood. In another Samantha Sloyan brandishes a poker, standing on a bed and facing a presence that remains out of frame. The miniseries will debut on Netflix on October 12, close to Halloween, with a truly apt time location. It is not the first time that Poe’s story has been transposed to the small screen. The first adaptation dates back to 1928 with the French silent film The Fall of the House of Usher and since then Poe’s 1839 tale has landed dozens of times on both television and stage. The most famous transposition is that of 1960 directed by Roger Corman and starring Vincent Price.
From the images, it can be seen how the adaptation signed by Mike Flanagan will be developed in a modern key. Edgar Allan Poe’s gothic tale is typically a horror-tinged costume drama, but here we see modern settings, looks, and furnishings that suggest that this version of The Fall of the House of Usher will be set in the present day. Below are the first images of the miniseries arriving next October on Netflix. The main cast includes Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, and Bruce Greenwood. Other cast members also include Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney and Robert Longstreet.

Finally, we have a close-up on patriarch Bruce Greenwood in the third, Daniel Jun, and Rahul Kohli in the fourth.
