The Boys Season 3 Episode 8: Ending Explained! Is Maeve Dead? What Will Happed With Soldier Boy?
The Boys Season 3 has come to an end. This Thursday and several hours ahead of its premiere, Prime Video uploaded the eighth and last episode of this cycle, which came to present the outcome between Homelander (Antony Starr) and Butcher’s plan (Karl Urban) to finish him off and revenge for what he did to his wife. And it is that throughout the successful and explicit Amazon streaming series, in which this world of superheroes in which not everything is a fairy tale, the fight between humans and super people has had epic moments since its premiere in 2019 and is inspired by the comic of the same name.
This season’s story had both Butch and Hughie (Jack Quaid) splitting from the group to eliminate Vought’s flagship superhero and the most powerful of all, where the factor of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) came to level the dispute, even more so with the arrival of temporary Compound V in the hands of the boys. But the final chapter, approached after the great revelation of the previous episode, had its great battle and several events that will forever change the story for the fourth season. Attention! The Boys Season 3 Episode 8: Ending Explained
After discovering in the last episode that Soldier Boy, through an experiment, is Homelander’s father and was locked up by the Russians since Vought had generated his replacement, now both he and Avenger doubted what to do, whether to confront or ally now that they know they are family.
This while Butcher sought to continue encouraging the soldier to kill Homelander, who killed Black Noir for not telling him about his father, and separated from Hughie to save him after learning that the temporary compound V they were taking was deadly. In the Vought tower, the great battle is lived, with Butch, Soldier Boy, and Meave on one side and Homelander on the other, this while Starlight, Hughie, LM, Frenchie, and Kimiko wanted to save people and stop Soldier Boy.
But Homelander, to ally himself with the soldier, showed him his “grandson”, Ryan. But to everyone’s surprise and when they thought they were going to get together, Soldier Boy was disappointed in Avenger and they started the fight, the superhero’s son was injured. Butcher did not like this at all, they went on to go against Homelander, finally came to his senses, and to defend Ryan went against Soldier Boy, battling him with the help of the boys, all this while Avenger and Meave fought.
Despite the powerful soldier and former member of The 7, Starlight showed his great power and was able to stop him, but this was not enough to prevent Soldier Boy from activating his power to destroy everything and take away the abilities of others. Here, Meave sacrifices herself and explodes with the anti-hero jumping out the window and believing her dead. Before Butch and Homelander confront each other again, Ryan asks him to leave but ignores Butch and goes with his father. As for Soldier Boy, we discover that he was captured again by the CIA, but is still alive.
After the battle, the revelations began, since by occupying compound V, Butcher has a terminal illness and the doctor did not give him more than a year and a half to live, while we know that Meave was saved, although he lost his powers. Homelander, for his part, continues to be admired by his crazy followers and introduced them to his son Ryan, who seems to follow the same path of evil as his father.
Already at the end of the chapter, we see the boys, now with Annie (Erin Moriarty) as their new member, planning their next adventure, when they see that Victoria Neuman will run for vice president of the country after the death of the candidate at the hands of Deep.
What Will Happen In The Boys Season 4?
Still without a release date but soon to start production, the fourth season of The Boys leaves several unanswered questions, the most relevant is what the threat of Homelander will be like now, which is still unstoppable, along with his powerful son Ryan. In addition, Butcher’s death has already been raised and only time will tell if the character will die after getting sick from using temporary compound V.
This while the rest of the boys, now with Starlight, continue on the quest to expose Vought and stop Homelander. This while we meet the threat of having Victoria as a vice-presidential candidate, who is allied with the same Avenger and Vought.
We will see the stories of Deep, who continues to try to be faithful to Homelander, and A-Train, who still has to discover his path. As if that weren’t enough, the ending of Soldier Boy indicates that he can still come back and take revenge on the boys.
