The Batman Trailer: All The References, Easter Eggs And Keys Of Robert Pattinson’s Film

DC FanDome revealed the final trailer for Robert Pattinson's movie and there's a lot to see in just a few minutes.

The Batman is a new beginning for the Bat Man who like James Bond, has had many versions throughout history, with different actors, directors and approaches that allow us to see one of the most famous superheroes on the big screen and again. This time, the story travels a little further back in time, to a moment when Bruce Wayne is still not the night watchman we all know and love. Robert Pattinson plays a younger and relatively inexperienced Bruce who, in addition to dealing with the emotional consequences of the death of his parents, must also find a way to deal with criminals and injustice in his city as well.

The Batman Trailer

He is the same Batman, but at the same time he is not and that is because Matt Reeves, the director of the film, had a very particular vision, inspired by the detective stories of Film Noir of the 50s, where characters like The Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler aren’t exactly like we’ve seen them before either, though what happens here is going to lead them to become the Dark Knight’s greatest enemies. A first teaser, which was released months ago, revealed some details about the characters and the possible main enemy of Bruce Wayne in this story, but now the DC FandDome event revealed the final trailer and there we can see much more about the plot of the film to be released in 2022. The Batman opens on March 4, 2022.

The Batman: The Plot

“I’m revenge,” says Batman in the trailer after Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) asks him who is under the suit, so we can assume that this younger Batman or is still a vigilante but is cleaning the streets of the city as a way of seeking revenge. James Gordon shows up for a few minutes with the famous Bat Sign, which looks a little different, so we know Gotham City is aware of Batman’s existence, and criminals take that light as a warning, or they should.

It is clear that Bruce Wayne is dealing with trauma and is carrying a great deal of anger, but he will apparently have to put it aside to deal with a serial killer who is terrorizing his city. In addition, we can see Batman fighting a group of criminals with white painted faces, which many believe could be a reference to the character of Joker but could also be a criminal group under the command of the Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepott ( Colin Farrell).

Also, Andy Serkis’s Alfred appears to have been through rough and violent times, as indicated by his scar, but remains determined to help Bruce and keep him out of harm’s way as much as possible. It’s probably Alfred who helps Wayne create the suit and the Batmobile seen in the trailer, which have a more rudimentary look and as if they had been made by hand, and it moves away from the gothic style of Burton and the military of Nolan, which tells us about a Batman with a particular style and state of mind.

The Sins of My Father?

Without his father, Bruce Wayne is the head of the family business, and it seems that within all that there are more secrets than he expected. At one point, Brown Bruce can be seen on an outline drawn in white ink, surrounded by photos and with signs that read “The Sins of My Father?”, “Mitchell” (which is a reference to Mayor Don Mitchell Jr, played by Rupert Penry-Jones), “No More Lies. Colson” (which is a reference to District Attorney Gil Solson, played by Peter Sarsgaard), in addition to the word “Savage” and “Renewall is a Lie” and all of this seems to point to a corruption ring that has been operating for years. secret.

Arkham

Another key moment of the trailer is a scene of just a few seconds where we can see Bruce talking with a patient/ prisoner of Arkham, the famous asylum of the comics to which the worst criminals were sent. It could definitely be the man who killed his parents, but, if we put in a little conspiracy theory, it could even be a small cameo of the Joker (which would connect with the characters that have their faces painted white), who could have been sent there after the chaos it caused in the Joaquin Phoenix movie.

Riddler and The Court of Owls?

The serial killer that Batman must stop in this film is about Riddler, this is confirmed with a cup of coffee where you can see the famous question mark of the character. Paul Dano plays this version of the character who is also very different from the one we have seen in the comics, and the previous teaser showed some details of his case that seem to refer to The Court of Owls or Court of Owls which is a Legendary criminal organization in Gotham City. The organization is made up of some of Gotham’s richest and most prestigious families, who use their power and influence to control the city.

In the comics, the Wayne family has been the organization’s rival since the time of Alan Wayne, who was one of the city’s builders and Bruce’s great-great-grandfather. Alan spent years trying to stop the Court of Owls until he was assassinated in 1922. As a child, Bruce came to hear the legend and suspected that the Court was involved in the death of his parents.

Catwoman and the Penguin

Oswald Cobblepot is a criminal leader in the city, he does not have the classic appearance of the Penguin nor does he call himself that way, at least not at first, but it is clear that he has Batman in his sights and that he intends to destroy him with all the tricks possible. On the other hand we have Zoe Kravitz as the new Catwoman, who presents a Selina Kyle who has a certain attraction to Batman and who is also a vigilante who fights for those who need her. The two characters run into each other several times along the way, and for now, it seems Selina is not a serious problem for Bat Man and there is even a chance that they will work together to destroy a common enemy.
