The director added: “I wanted to create something that would meet the tastes of those who loved In Bruges, but with something stranger, certainly something different.”

This is the official synopsis of The Banshees of Inisherin: Set on an island off the west coast of Ireland, The Banshees of Inisherin follows two longtime friends, Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves in a stalemate when Colm abruptly decides to end their friendship. Padraic, confused and devastated, attempts to rekindle their relationship with the support of his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon), who along with Dominic (Barry Keoghan), is the son of the local policeman, has his concerns within the small community of ‘island. But when Colm launches a shocking ultimatum to make his intentions come true, events begin to escalate.
