Dhamaal, Total Dhamaal, Masti, Grand Masti, and now Thank God director Indra Kumar is known for doing different experiments in comedy films. Can’t say that he was more successful, but in such a long career, he has developed an audience of his own. Now keeping that audience in mind, his new offering has come – Thank God. It is being told as a family entertainer, actors like Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet are also working with Ajay Devgan. Hit or flop, you know.

Thank God Movie Review

In the case of films, there is a term, no brainer. That is a mind-blowing movie. The makers insist that if you do not insist on applying logic, then you will find the film fun. In many cases, this has also proved to be true. Hindi cinema has made a lot of films that are beyond logic but create a lot of humour. So, there is no special abstinence from the no-brainer to the public. But some films have a different definition of a brainer. They have to say clearly that we have not put any mind, it is your choice ahead. Ajay Devgan and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God is exactly a similar film.

Thank God Movie Review: The Story

The story of the film is such that there is a real estate broker named Ayan Kapoor, who is a great corrupt. Professionally as well as ethically. One day he gets into an accident. Now he is fighting in two places simultaneously. Waging a battle to death in the ICU and suing the gods in heaven. The deity CG, who keeps the account of sins and virtues, is telling him, what a foolish man he was in reality. Now you will say which god are these CGs! So something happened that after the ruckus in the film, the name of the deity has been changed to CG. The public will not be able to recognize what CG can mean! So. So let’s play a game show-type thing with CG Ayan. What kind of game show is this, will Ayaan be able to win it or not, it will be known by watching the film. Meaning if you feel like it a lot. Otherwise, even if you don’t know, trust me, it won’t make much difference.

It was loudly said about the story of the film that it is a new kind of story. Sorry, there is no such thing. Many films have already been made on the concept of the presence of the servants of Mrityu Lok in front of the gods in heaven. Jeetendra’s ‘Lok-Parlok’ is remembered. One of Venkatesh’s films came in the nineties, ‘Takdeerwala’. In that too there were many characters like Yamraj and Chitragupta. Moreover, Thank God is also not an original script. After doing a little searching, it was found that in 2009 there was a Danish film ‘Sorte Kugler’, which was called ‘What Goes Around’ in English. Thank God is a copy or remake or whatever you may say. Seeing this, in between, one also remembers Salman’s God Tussi Great Ho. Even after this, if the makers claim that this is a new type of story, then we have nothing to say, God will do justice to them.

Thank God Movie Review and Analysis

There are many complaints about the film but the biggest complaint is that when you are raising the slogan of comedy, then do comedy. Neither are there jokes that bring laughter, nor are there situations where comedy is generated. The film is stuck in the dilemma of ‘Do comedy or give the message’ all the time and both are unable to work. The jokes are outdated, and the message is full of clichés. If you take out the logic of logic, then there are fifty things. Meaning, how many fathers do you know who do not forgive their little children for their minor mistakes throughout their life? There are many scenes which may be comedy on paper but look very clumsy on screen. The bank robbery scene is something similar.

Siddharth Malhotra is not known why Ajay Devgan has not done this film. He is the West. Well, a lot has happened in the West, including the time of people like me. So. Sidharth Malhotra seems clueless in many scenes but it is less of him, and more of a flaw in the script. There was not much scope for Rakul Preet Singh too, so she also did not do anything special. What about the rest? A strong actress like Seema Pahwa is also gone. Marathi actress Urmila Kanitkar Kothare is fine.

Even in the name of music, you will remember God only. Barring one exception, nothing is nameless. The fate of ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ has been seen by the public a month ago. That song is ruined. The exception I mentioned is the small comeback of Anand Raj Anand. An extended version of one of his famous songs is heard for a while. For me, just as many moments in the film are capable. Dil Toh Chah Raha hai that I should tell the song, but then you people will curse us by calling us spoiler-spoilers. So let’s stay. If you choose the courageous act of watching a film, you will know for yourself.

In short, Thank God is such a film, which might have looked good 15-20 years ago. It would have been accepted as family entertainment. But in today’s era, it seems a stale and boring concept. Director Inder Kumar has still stuck in the formula comedy of a decade ago. I feel bad boss! There was some ruckus before the release of the film. People said that their religious sentiments were hurt. We cannot say anything about religious sentiments, but there is a lot of material in this film, due to which even generals can be hurt. You can get hurt by a weak script, bad acting, weird sequences, and clichéd WhatsApp jokes. It is better to stay away. If God saves this film, save it, the rest is nothing for you and us Greetings.

Talking about acting, Ajay Devgan, who became God in Thank God, has everything. It is his film, this is his film. He has given a different flavour to his Chandragupta character. It is modern, a bit funny and keeps on talking about knowledge. But all these things do not apply to Siddharth Malhotra, who is considered the lead actor in the film. She is smart but she is not capable of acting. Even in comedy scenes, his reactions seem over the top, spontaneity is missing. The biggest deception happened with Rakul Preet Singh. He has been given the role of a police officer, but the treatment is the most backward. Why his character was coined, what was added to the story by thinking, you will keep looking for the answer throughout the film. By the way, the forced cameo has also been seen by Nora Fatehi. If there was a Bollywood film, he was kept to fill the shortage of item songs. But that shortcoming is not far away,

Indra Kumar needs a hit film for a long time. But it seems the comedy genre is not suiting him at this time. This time in Thank God, he picked up the concept well, but the story needed to give it justice was missing. The kind of comedy that tried to make the audience laugh, that too would be called faded. The problem will also be said that Thank God comes very late to his main issue. Because of this, the flow will break on many occasions and your interest will not be created.

The most important thing about the film is the way it is shown. The film starts laughing from the first minute itself and after that, it starts giving messages along with laughter. There are many such small moments in the film, which you will be able to connect with your real life and you will be forced to think that how many times you unknowingly or unknowingly do such things, which may be wrong. The film focuses on many important issues like the value of family, and the importance of doing good and noble deeds.

Anger, greed, jealousy, delusion and lust… you will understand this after watching the movie, how man is caught in the middle of it. The film focuses on how we are neglecting the big joys of our lives because of small things. The film is quite tight as a story and not a single dialogue or scene is unnecessary. Some scenes are like this, Which may seem unnecessary while watching you, but in the end, its conclusion comes out. Ajay Devgan has done a great job in the film and along with the act, you also get to see the magic of his voice as an audience. Rakul has also done justice to her character.

The film has all those elements for the audience, which makes it a family entertainer. However, everyone is also aware that the controversy regarding the film has been going on for some time. Some people object to the style in which Ajay Devgan has been shown as Chitragupta in the film and it is said that it is being made fun of by Hindu gods and goddesses. At the same time, after the release of the film, this controversy may increase because there are some scenes in the film, due to which some special people may object.

Sidharth Malhotra is seen going on and off in the film. In some scenes of the film, where Siddharth has done great acting, in some parts he proves to be very light.
