Filmyhype.com Ratings: 3/5 (three stars)
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is the vehicle of revolution. In this film, the problem of Millennials was discussed, about which they do not want to talk to anyone. Marriage. The basic plot of TBMAUJ is that the boy is under so much pressure from his family that he marries a robot (this much is also told in the trailer, please do not chant spoilers in the comments). But the important thing is that for the first time, someone acknowledged that marriage pressure is a genuine problem. Experiments have been going on for years on the usefulness of robots in the human world. The issue of the latest AI is also very hot whether this artificial intelligence will replace human abilities and make humans useless.
In such a situation, director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah have come up with the love story of a robot and a human being. This pair raises the question that despite being perfect in every way, can a robot replace a human in ordinary life? Be it Bollywood or Hollywood, many films like Rajinikanth, ‘Robot’, ‘Love Story 2050’, ‘Her’, and ‘X Machine’ have been made on this issue. This director duo combines everything like love, romance, drama, dance, and song in the story, only logic is missing. However, according to the makers, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a love story happening between a human being and a robot. Even before this, films like ‘Enthiran’ (Robot) and ‘Love Story 2050’ have been made in India. Which shows that this experiment was never successful.
‘Jiya, I got so entangled in your words’ proves the same thing without adding anything new to it. It just picks up that topic and puts it in the family set-up. Where four laughs come out with the help of the family members. And there is space for two or three songs. He has not left any difference between rom-coms and family drama. If you think that you have an interesting subject on which a good film can be made. So why is his writing not done properly? There was a good vibe coming from the trailer and songs of ‘Teri Baton Mein Uljha Jio’. But the typical and routine manner in which this film was made is beyond comprehension. This feeling starts coming from the opening sequence of the film itself. Which is so tired and lame that you get frustrated. The makers were so confident about their basic plot that they did not pay attention to anything else. Because of this, the film remains unconvincing throughout.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review: The Story Plot
The story starts with robotics engineer Aryan (Shahid Kapoor) finding a girl for himself. Aryan is a boy from a well-to-do family and not only his mother but his entire family wants him to get married and settle down. But Aryan does not like any girl. Meanwhile, her aunt Urmila (Dimple Kapadia) calls her in connection with a project in America. Urmila herself, the owner of a robotics company, has been doing various experiments on robots for many years and her efforts are to give such a perfect robot to the human world, which can defeat humans. She hires a robot named Sifra (Kriti Sanon) to take care of Aryan.
Seeing all the qualities of Sifra, Aryan falls in love with her. But the twist in the story comes when he comes to know that Sifra is a robot, yet he is unable to stop the emotions growing in his mind. He somehow convinces his aunt to send this beautiful robot to India to test it in a human environment. Aryan has made up his mind that he will marry Sifra. He has also introduced Sifra to his family without revealing her real identity. But will Aryan’s family come to know that Sifra is a robot? Will they be able to get married? You will get answers to all these questions after watching the film.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review and Analysis
Director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah tackle a topical issue in the era of AI that has become a topic of debate today. When AI is becoming a threat in professional life, then what if a person tries the option of a robot instead of a living girl for love and settling a house? The director duo has tried their best to make it a family entertainer as well as a rom-com, in which they succeed, but fall short in establishing the robot in a family setup. The story takes some time to develop. But then many entertaining sequences are added to the story. This film makes you laugh and entertain in many parts, but by the end it becomes predictable. The screenplay of the film could have been tightened.
The climax feels rushed. If hard work had been put into the writing of the film, it could have been an amazing movie. Talking about songs and music, all the songs of the film like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, ‘Ankhiyaan Gulab’, and ‘Lal-Pili Ankhiyaan’ are hits and it is fun to see Shahid and Kriti dancing to these songs. Talking about acting, the pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon looks quite fresh on screen. After a long time, seeing Shahid moving away from gray and intense roles in a romantic space will please his fans. He has lived his role in his unique style. Kriti looks very beautiful on screen. He has performed the role of a robot very beautifully. The chemistry between the two is very strong on screen. Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia have done justice to their roles. Artists like Rakesh Bedi, Grusha Kapoor, Mahi Raj Jain, Rajesh Kumar, Ashish Verma, etc. have given good support in the supporting cast. Why watch – This can be a one-time watch for Shahid-Kriti fans and rom-com lovers.
There is a scene from the film. Our hero Aryan Agnihotri is a robotics engineer. There is a meeting to be held in his office, in which the entire team has to participate. As always, our hero reaches there late. The owner of that company only takes the hero’s suggestions. The ten people sitting around keep staring and the meeting is dismissed. Effortless scene. Zero effort from the writers. The people of which family are sitting together and drinking alcohol every night. Just joking. Ever since the internet became cheap, no one has been sitting with his family. In this matter, it is not possible to know what the families of today are like. The same problem is facing the makers also. The concept of their family has worn out. They need to move towards a little realism.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a type of film in which everything is right. Apart from the story and treatment. Feels bad for Shahid Kapoor. Why do such films come to his credit, which he is not able to save even with good acting and dance performance? This time even Kriti Sanon feels bad. Because this is probably his best work after ‘Mimi’. This film has been directed together by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Perhaps Amit did not want the blame for this film to fall on his head alone. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Maddock created his horror-comedy universe, which started with ‘Stree’. But in the pursuit of making contemporary cinema, these people are playing with the basic things. Because of this, these films are not having any impact. The public is moving forward by saying one-time watch. Except for ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’, hardly any memorable cinema has come from Maddock. Both those films have also been directed by Amar Kaushik.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review: The Last Words
Overall, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is an entertaining film with a lot of heart. Well, I don’t want to rant about this any further. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya cannot even be called a time-wasting cinema. But nothing comes out of this film that you can take home with you. Again, a time watch. Because any film must be seen once. Who knows, what I missed may come to your attention.
