Stay Close Ending Explained
The end of Season 1 of Stay Close shows Megan and Dave’s wedding. During the ceremony, Dave confesses to Megan that he picked up Kayleigh and Bea the night Carlton Flynn went missing. He found them in the middle of nowhere next to a car, which he later realized belonged to Carlton Flynn.
After finding that Carlton Flynn was missing, Dave returned to the scene and pushed Carlton Flynn’s car into the river. Kayleigh had revealed to Megan that Carlton Flynn had tried to drug her. They escaped into the woods until he attacked her in his car. Kayleigh dropped Carlton into the trunk and closed it around him. Then Bea and Carlton drove away. So Carlton Flynn was actually still in the trunk of the car when Dave pushed him into the water.
Who Is The Killer?
After Megan is healed, Broome sets up a meeting between Ray and Megan to talk about what happened that night, so long ago. Megan reveals that she received a note telling her to meet him in the woods. There, Stewart Green was dead. She panicked and ran into the woods.
Ray had followed her that night into the woods, but he arrived after she ran away. He saw Stewart Green dead, and he thought it was her. To cover his tracks, Ray disposed of Stewart’s body in the nearby river. Ken follows Lorraine home, and Broome makes the connection. Broome runs to Vipers, then to Lorraine’s home. There, he finds Ken slaughtered and Lorraine holding a knife.
Lorraine reveals that she killed her abusive ex-husband who hit her so hard when she was pregnant that she lost her baby. She then started killing wicked men every year at the carnival, but only one so as not to attract suspicion. Lorraine is also responsible for the murder of Stewart Green to get him out of Cassie’s life. Broome convinces Lorraine to surrender, and she does.
