The end of Star Trek Picard Season 2 has landed on Paramount Plus confirming one of the most important moments in the history of Star Trek, as well as some keys to the future of the series. Star Trek Picard Season 2: How To Fix The Timeline
“To be successful, there must be two Renées: one who lives, and one who dies”. This was the prophecy offered by the Borg Queen that helped Picard and the company solve the mess they were in. If we remember, at the beginning of the second season, Q appears (brought to life by John de Lancie) with his divine powers to send the crew of the Stargazer to the past (to almost our present, in 2024) and force them to find the way to fix the timeline. If not, the future of the Earth goes through a dictatorship of Nazi aesthetics known as the Confederation of the Earth that does not look good at all. The key here is in the astronaut Renée Picard (ancestor of Jean-Luc), who in 2024 will undertake a trip to the moon of Jupiter (known as the Europa Mission) where he will find a very important microorganism for the good of humanity. But Dr. Adam Soong plans to kill her earlier at Q’s encouragement to ensure her place in the future. The goal is clear: save Renée and fix the timeline.
In the final episode, the pieces fall into place and the prophecy makes sense: Romulan Tallinn, who has spent her life overseeing Renée’s well-being, must die so her protégé can live. Q will reveal later that this was her destiny, it was what had to happen. Thus, he uses a mechanism to change her appearance and impersonate Renée at the moment Soong poisons her and dies in Picard’s arms while the real Renée boards the Mission Europe ship. As Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg’s character, who has returned this season) later reveals, Ricardo Ramírez uses the microorganism Renée brought back from Jupiter to clean up the oceans and the environment. The First Alliance With The Borg

The Borg queen, who was revealed in this season that she had merged into a single entity along with Dr. Agnes Jurati, has been trying to save the future of the universe since the first episode of this second season.
In the last episode, after the crew of the USS Stargazer returns to the present (their own: the year 2401), Picard believes in the Borg Queen’s intentions, clearly influenced by Jurati’s absorbed human compassion, and agrees to perform a historical alliance for the franchise. The reason? A cataclysmic event threatens to wipe out entire planets, and the Borg need the strength of the Federation to stop it. But what could have been a temporary alliance becomes something more lasting when the queen calls for her entire race to be admitted as a member of the Federation. Hallelujah! Even so, they still do not know who is responsible for this threat that they have had to face, and we imagine that this person will become a great threat in the third season of ‘Picard’.
And another piece of good news for the Borg legacy: Seven of Nine has also been officially accepted as a member of the Federation. This is important for the character, who was already rejected by Starfleet in ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ despite the defense of Admiral Kathryn Janeway and has suffered discrimination and fear from all those around her for being Borg. Wil Wheaton’s Surprising Cameo
Trekkies weren’t prepared for the surprise appearance of Wesley Crusher (played by Wil Wheaton) in the ‘Picard’ season 2 finale. The file is dated 1996 and is titled ‘Project Khan’. Considering Soong’s age in 2024, it’s possible that he was part of Khan’s creation when he was a young eugenics scientist in the 1990s. The thing to understand is that there is no specific in-canon explanation for the Khan’s brainchild, so ‘Picard’ could be treading on the uncharted territory for the franchise. It is possible that the third season of ‘Picard’ shows us a younger Khan and tells how he became the most feared villain in the series.
