Silo: Apple TV+ Confirm the Third and Fourth Will Be the Last Season
Apple TV+ renews its dramatic science fiction series for two more seasons Silo, just enough, he lets know, to bring the story to its conclusion. Based on a trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey, the series is halfway through its second season on the streaming platform. Continuing two more seasons will allow us to narrate the whole story. There was no doubt that Silo was one of the best successful experiments of Apple TV+: the series with Rebecca Ferguson has ground important ratings and collected more than positive criticisms during its first two seasons (the second, remember, is currently underway). After the applause received by Rebecca Ferguson for the first episode of Silo Season 2 Apple has decided to renew the show for two seasons in one fell swoop, effectively announcing its conclusion: the series will therefore end with its fourth season, closing by then (hopefully!) all the open plots and mysteries we are investigating together with Juliette.
What the Creators Said about Silo Season 3 and 4
“It has been a satisfying experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels together with our Apple partners and we are excited to have the opportunity to bring this story to the screen over four seasons,” said Graham Yost, a showrunner and executive producer. “With the last two chapters of Silo, we can’t wait to offer the public the most satisfactory conclusion possible of the many mysteries and an explanation of the unanswered questions contained within the walls of these Silos”. “The engaging, inventive and moving Silo has fascinated us from day one and we loved seeing the public fall in love with the world created by Graham Yost,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV programming manager.
“We look at the third and fourth seasons of this ambitious sci-fi series, which will end Juliette Nichols’ journey and will complete Hugh Howey’s epic trilogy of novels. We can’t wait for everyone to appreciate other powerful interpretations of the show’s cast, led by the unparalleled Rebecca Ferguson, as well as the unexpected twists and turns that we expect from this very human story“.
In Silo Rebecca Ferguson (who is also an executive producer) plays the role of one of the last ten thousand inhabitants of the Earth who live in a building a mile deep that protects them from a toxic and deadly world on the surface. Nobody, however, knows when or why the Silo was built, and all those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Engineer Juliette, played by Ferguson, looks for answers on the murder of a person dear to her and comes across a mystery that goes much deeper than she ever imagined.
“I enjoyed playing Juliette and bringing her to the screen and from the first episode I am immensely proud of what we created with Silo,” said Ferguson. “I have always felt the ardent desire to tell the whole story of Hugh Howey’s books, so I couldn’t be happier that the public has welcomed the series worldwide. Together with our Apple partners, Graham, the entire cast and crew, I can’t wait to immerse myself in the last two stimulating seasons that will end this dystopian story magnificently”.
Since the debut of the second season, last November, “Silo” has conquered the public all over the world, earning praise standards “genuinely brilliant”, “widely satisfactory” and “one of the best science fiction TV series today”. Critically loved, she has garnered consensus for her “characters dynamic”, for its “atmospheric construction element of the world”, for Rebecca Ferguson’s “shocking interpretation” and the “life performance” of the newcomer Steve Zahn. The sixth episode of the second season of “Silo” debuts on Apple TV + this Friday, December 20th. In the new episode of this week, Bernard puts in place a plan to eliminate Knox, Shirley, and Walker. Billings takes a stand. Only saves the life of Juliette and wants something in return.
What Do We Know About Silo Season 3 and Season 4?
Created by Emmy-appointed screenwriter Graham Yost, who also plays the role of showrunner, “Silo” tells the story history of the last ten thousand inhabitants of the Earth, whose home placed a mile underground protects them from the outside world, toxic and mortal. However, nobody knows when or why the Silo was built, and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson plays the engineer Juliette who is looking for answers on the murder of a loved one and runs into a much more intricate mystery than he could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if lies don’t kill you, the truth will do it.
In addition to Ferguson and the new entry Steve Zahn, the second season stars Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie and Iain Glen. “Silo” is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios and is executively produced by Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Howey, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon and AMC Studios.
