The film Silence, Can You Hear It Come, Find the Killer is the kind of film. In English it is called ‘Who Done It’. I consider Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film ‘Khamosh’ to be the criterion of such Hindi films. Can a suspense thriller force the audience to sit on the corner of the seat until the end, can its actors bring theatricality to the stories while looking normal, and is the film’s technical team also working on the same wavelength at which Is the director cool? The film ‘Silence, Can You Hear It’ is probably not meant to be tightened up to these criteria. People know Aban more as an actress. She has made ‘T Spoon’ as a director. In her new film, she has been able to write a mediocre screenplay in the Kaul Kaun category in which she is focused on not letting the killer’s identity be revealed until the end.

The Story

The story opens with a murder. The corpse of a girl is recovered at the beginning of the film. Name is Pooja. Later, it is learned that Pooja was not a common girl. Was the daughter of Justice Chaudhary of the city. Pooja’s father also gets angry at the death of the daughter. We want the culprit to be caught as soon as possible. We meet the police commissioner about this. Request that the case of investigation of Pooja’s murder be handed over to ACP Avinash Verma. Avinash is a different mood. The rule is not bound by rules. But believes in justice. It is a different matter that his methods of reaching justice are slightly different from the police.

Avinash is put on this case. A team is given together. Avinash and his team have everything except time. They have to solve the case as soon as possible. Whether or not he can solve the case and his own doubts, where does his search take him, this is the story of the film. Whether or not they are able to solve the case is a different matter. But does the audience enjoy it while solving that case? Will the public watching on their screen be curious to know what is going to happen next moment? So the answer is a very big no. And why has this happened, we talk on the same reasons.

The Review

The film saved its best cards for the last. And made a mistake in this. First half was kept slow. Probably trying to establish a story. But this part of the film was so slow that the interest could easily get over. Doing this to the story did not help much. There is nothing wrong in saving your suspense and endings for murder mystery and thriller films. But it goes wrong when only two minutes of the last of your film become a full highlight.

The film had another negative point. That much of the investigation here only came out in talks. That is, what the police got, what did not get, it is shown only through dialogues. It seems fine up to a point. But it starts to be representative. Kool Milla’s film was reduced to just two-four settings. The writer and director of the film, Aban Bharucha Deohans, is responsible for this. It was done so well that the film was limited to a few characters. He did not allow Raita to spread the story. But even the needle of suspicion between these few selected characters could not do anything good for the story.

The film unnecessarily took 2 hours 16 minutes to open its cards. This could have been done much earlier. It is not that the film’s writing is weak in every sense. Yes, there is nothing new to see here. One can see this as a murder mystery. However, the same thing will come to mind again and again while watching. Have seen such a movie many times before. There is nothing here in terms of newness. It was disappointing to see this.

The Performances

It would not be wrong to say that Manoj Bajpayee is the heart and mind of this film. He has played the role of ACP Avinash Verma. From his perspective, we see the case and the world revolving around it. Avinash often loses his temper over things. It rains on the front. Naturally, an attempt was made to capitalize on Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Angry Cop’ image here. The image where his character suddenly explodes. It was right from the point of view of the character. Avinash’s old life is also mentioned to give him another shed. But just mention. With that information, what the makers had to do in the story, these makers were unable to disassemble.

It was refreshing to see Prachi Desai back on the screen as well as inspector Sanjana Bhatia. Arjun Mathur, who has been ruling the OTT platforms along with his fantabulous performing deserves a particular point out for his portrayal of Ravi Khanna, a sketchy politician. The remainder of the solid too appear fairly good of their roles. However the improbable Manoj Bajpayee is the guts and the soul of this movie. He has a prepared wit and makes use of unconventional strategies to unravel the thriller and that definitely gained me over.

Avinash had three more policemen in his team. Sanjana, Amit and Raj. Amit has played the character of Amit in modern Bollywood films, Sahil Vaid, friend of the hero. Has played the hero’s friend in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Dil Bechara’. At the same time, Prachi Desai has made a comeback from Sanjana’s role. Sanjana brings balance in her team. The balance between Avinash’s anger and Amit’s carelessness. Apart from the police team, you will see another well-known face. Which is Arjun Mathur’s. Arjun, who has worked in ‘Made in Heaven’, has appeared here as a leader. His character was important for the story.

Music & Other Departments

Fortunately, there are not any forced songs within the movie as it will have ruined the movement of the film. The script and screenplay are a bit weak, however we thankfully have Manoj Bajpayee who salvages the movie until the very finish. There are too many plotholes within the script the most important being the murder weapon not being checked for fingerprints as there’s a scene with forensic specialists on the crime scene. It’s introduced much later into the movie, however by that point the audiences have discovered that this certainly was a goof-up and never part of the plot. The plots in regards to the rape of the sufferer and sexual actions are talked about after which dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Filmyhype Final Verdict

Silence … despite being a little loose in the middle. Before the last half an hour, the way the director gathers all the characters under one roof, it seems that now the drama will happen and some rajad raj will open, but it does not happen. There is no drama in the thriller. Aban Bharucha Deohans came into the limelight in 2015 with the short film Tspun. In that film, he made the sound of the spoon the basis of the story, while here he elaborates on the murder of the empty house in silence. If you are not uncomfortable with simple stories, then the film is worth watching once and does not disappoint.
