For Alina and the Grishas to win back the town’s trust, Nikolai suggests a fake engagement. When Genya and David realize that Kirigan has no mercy when it comes to expanding his power, they decide to run away, but the Darkling stops and severely punishes the first. David manages to escape and reaches out to Alina to inform her about the bond she has with her rival. Meanwhile, Baghra uses her powers to escape with Genya. The Ravens confront Pekka, who is guilty of the death of brother Kaz and the person who took the club from them. After completing his revenge, Kaz frees Inej and Nina retrieves Shu Han’s legendary sword that Alina needs.
The Discovery of the Firebird?
The season begins with Alina locating the sea whip. Next, the challenge is to discover the whereabouts of Morozova’s last remaining amplifier: the Firebird. Mal leads the quests, but Baghra proves more insightful in this mission. The story progresses and we discover that Mal and Baghra are the blood of the same blood. Then, it is discovered that Mal also carries the same amplifier as Morozova. As it stands, it is Firebird itself. This becomes even clearer when we remember that he always went to Alina as if he were being attracted. The discovery makes him the only one capable of taking down Dobra.
Mal and Alina Get Into a Quandary
After the discovery that it is a Firebird, Mal will learn that Alina can only take over the third amplifier if he dies. So that Mal doesn’t have to die, Tamar decides to give him cardiac arrest. Mal’s heart stops for two minutes, and Alina uses that time to destroy Dobra. The two minutes are not enough, but David has fused Mal’s bone with Alina’s so that time is better managed. Alina ends up affecting Mal by using the Cut and, to stop the effects, she decides to stick a knife in Mal’s chest. Alina absorbs the powers to achieve the Fold and succeeds. Meanwhile, Nina appears to rescue Mal from death. Neither she nor Alina can rescue him. Unsuccessful in the task of resuscitating him, Alina uses Merzost and Mal manages to come back to life. In compensation for the Merzost, Alina becomes a Shadow Summoner.
Do Mal and Alina End up Together?
Mal’s discovery ended up changing his life. So much so that, he almost died. The paths of the two diverge in a way that they will have to separate. Mal gets Nikolai a compass and his discovery will now revolve around his origins. Does Alina Destroy the Darkling?
After discovering that Mal is the third amplifier and that she must die for Alina to gain enough power to bring down the Fold, the gang finds a way for the Suncaller to gain power without sacrificing the love of her life. Thanks to Tamar’s gift, they plan to stop Mal’s heart long enough for Alina to complete her mission. However, Kirigan appears, spreads the shadows, and mortally wounds Mal, who begs Alina to kill him to gain the power she needs to save the world. Alina stabs her lover and there is a huge explosion that destroys the entire Fold.
Kirigan survives and asks Alina to join him. Of course, she rejects him and takes advantage of the distraction of the battle to stab him with the Neshyenyer sword. Then Zoya and Genya take it upon themselves to cremate his body to make sure he doesn’t come back. According to the Grishaverse books, there are ways the Darkling can return. Does Alina Get Mal Back?
Nina tries to help Mal, but she can’t do anything, so Alina uses the Merzost, that is, the magic of the dark shadows just like Kirigan, to bring her lover back. After the battle, Mal decides to get away from the Suncaller and find her way from it. Nikolai hands over his special compass and the name of Sturmhond to Mal, who boards the Volkvolny/Hummingbird with Tamar, Tolya and Inej, who is determined to find her brother. In fact, at the end of the season, she locates a slave ship and prepares to fight. On the other hand, Genya loses David, Nina gets a pardon but fails to free Matthias, and Nikolai sees a shadow monster in the mirror after feeling pain in his injured shoulder. At the end of the second season of Shadow and Bone, Kaz reveals to the Ravens that there is a drug called “Jurda Parem” that has the power to amplify Grisha’s powers and that the Fjerdans intend to use it as a weapon. During Nikola and Alina’s coronation, a Fjerdan woman uses the drug causing attendees to convulse and cough up blood. Alina manages to get over it and uses the cut to eliminate the threat. The problem is that her energy is no longer light but dark like the Darklings.
