This second episode covers practically the same temporal arc as the first chapter, only focused on the consequences of the Dentri revolution for the fuei of the protagonists of the series. It helps us clarify what happened but also adds new mysteries about what Lumon hides. We start with Helly. At the end of the first season, we discover that she is a member of the Eagan family, leader of Lumon. What we did not know is that their participation in the Separated project is greater than we thought. After receiving an insult as brief as it is expeditious from his father, Helly proceeds to retract what happened and manage the crisis facing the company. First, they removed Cobel from the leadership of the separate plant, disguising him as a promotion to a new cabinet.
Cobel detects the tactic and claims to think about it, but there is nothing more dangerous than destroying his faith in the system, so I think it will become a trump card against Lumon, although his role is unclear in this second season. Something similar happens with Irving, although a small detail opens up infinite possibilities: being watched by Burt, the retired Lumon worker with whom Irving had fallen in love. Is Burt able to remember his love within Lumon? Or are you investigating him by order of the company? The latter would make less sense since it is clear that Irving is only an accessory employee for Lumon’s plan with Mark. And we got to Mark. His sister shows concern for him, but also interest. What if the phrase “Is alive” refers to Gemma? How can it be if Mark recognized the body? Milchick tries to convince Mark to join by all possible means. He raises his salary by 20%, ensures better conditions within the company, and appeals to overcome the duel with his wife, in which one day is lived as a year for Mark. Finally, he joins work with the question of whether he has seen anything within the company that makes him think that Gemma is alive. The encounter with Cobel, in which his body language implies that he knows something, does not help a bewildered Mark, key in the Cold Harbor project.
