Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani‘s film Satyaprem Ki Katha has been released. Sameer Vidwans, who has done a great job in Marathi cinema, has made this film. Karan Shrikant Sharma has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues of the film. Seeing the trailer, I thought that this is going to be a very typical film, how wrong I proved and how right, now let’s talk about that. If a girl says no, then it means no. This film gives this message in a good way, and this is the biggest feature of this film. This film tells that rape does not happen because of wearing the short clothes of a girl but because of someone’s bad thinking.
Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, who made a splash at the box office with last year’s summer vacation release ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2‘, are reuniting for Satyaprem Ki Katha. Earlier this film was named Satyaprem Ki Katha, but due to the possibility of controversy, it was changed to Satyaprem Ki Katha. There is a lot of craze among youngsters about Satyaprem Ki Katha, which was released on about 2000 screens across the country. With no other big release in the entire month of July ahead of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which releases at the end of next month, the film has a month to collect at the theatres. It’s been a long time.
Satyaprem Ki Katha Review: The Story Plot
The story of the film is like this. Satyaprem aka Sattu (Karthik Aryan) living in Ahmedabad is unemployed. After failing in LLB’s final year, he currently lives at home with his father, mother, and sister. With all his friends getting married, Sattu is the only bachelor in the locality who daydreams about his marriage. About a year back, Sattu met Katha (Kiara Advani) at a Garba night. Sattu, dying for marriage, also directly proposed to Katha, but she did not give feelings to Sattu as she was already a boyfriend. But this year in Navratri, as soon as Sattu comes to know that Katha has broken up, he again reaches her house to take a chance. But there such an incident happens that Katha‘s father marries her with Sattu. The story did not agree with this, but he has to do so under pressure from his father. Sattu‘s family members are very happy because of the marriage of the son to the elder father’s daughter. But after marriage, Sattu and his family are faced with a reality related to Katha‘s life, which shakes them. To know the rest of the story of the film, you will have to go to the theatre.
The hero of this story is Satyaprem, People fondly call him Sattu too, No one just talks with love. The dynamics of his house are also different. He and his father take care of the household chores. Mother and sister have the responsibility of taking care of the household expenses. It becomes clear in the very beginning of the film that Sattu has only one wish – he has to get married. A girl named Katha was also found. But then things did not work out. However, now the situation has changed. The relationship of the story itself comes to his house. gets married. The story comes from a wealthy family. How did she get married to a boy like Satyaprem? She didn’t love him. On top of that, he never completed his studies. For what reason this marriage took place, this twist opens further. In the further story, all the major characters try to emerge from it.
Satyaprem Ki Katha Review and Analysis
The makers should be praised for this. He never let the real story of the film be known through teasers, trailers, etc. Opened it at the right point. I was not that excited about the film. It seemed from the trailer that there is another attempt to capitalize on the typical Bollywood romance formula. This may or may not happen. The film spends a lot of its time on things here and there. An attempt was made to extract humor from some scenes. But he could not leave his impact. The overall thing is that the first half of the film could have been tighter. A lot of unnecessary stuff could have been removed which doesn’t directly add anything to the story. The songs of the film could also have been reduced. He was only doing the work of interfering in the story when he came every little while.
Although the film catches its pace in the second half. From the point of view of the story, only important things get a place. The film tries to raise some questions. Like how much sex has a place in a successful marriage. What is the meaning of no one’s ‘no’ in a relationship? Being a commercial film, it does not delve deeply into these aspects. She gets enough just by talking about them. Some strong scenes could have been kept showing the deep impact on the mood of the characters. My first reaction after the film was over was that Karthik Aryan had washed away his old sins. The sins that his characters committed in films like ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ and ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’.
Satyaprem is a boy who speaks without thinking. Believes what to think before speaking the truth. Not a clever type of person. Karthik can also carry his decency. However, in some places, Karthik Aryan is also seen instead of Satyaprem. And this was done intentionally as well. For example, at one place a monologue similar to ‘Pyaar Ka Panchnama’ starts being given. The makers just wanted to do this for Karthik’s fans. Otherwise, it had no meaning. Ignore these things Karthik has done the right thing here. Seeing her, it seemed that he is trying to do better. Even though the name of the film is Satyaprem Ki Katha. Everything is happening in the world of Satyaprem. But the hero of the story is the legend. It also becomes clear in a scene at the end when Sattu does not try to be her savior. He becomes the supporting hero of his story. Kiara who became a legend understands her character. Looks under control.
Karthik Aryan did a great job in the film. He not only makes you laugh but also comes across as the perfect husband. Surely after watching the movie, every girl will look for a husband like Sattu. On the other hand, Kiara has not only looked very beautiful on screen, but she has done great acting in emotional scenes. Gajraj Rao has done great acting in the role of Sattu‘s father. At the same time, the rest of the actors are also frozen in their roles. The film’s songs ‘Gujju Patakha’, ‘Pasoori Nu’, and ‘Sun Sajni’ are already on the lips of the youth. The film has been shot in Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir. The cinematography of the film also looks spectacular, spreading vibrant colors.
The emotions she shows through her gestures reach you. Kiara is not just a commercial heroine. She gets the dance etc right? But beyond all this, she is a good actor. it is a light-hearted romantic film that gives a big message. Seeing the trailer, it was not felt that this message would be there in the film, but the film surprises you. You can’t guess the story. The story takes many turns. Where you think this will happen now, something else happens. Karthik and Kiara‘s fans will enjoy watching them and I think this film should be watched with the family as its message should reach every family.
Kiara Advani is the director’s actress. If she gets a good director, she shines. Here too Kiara has surprised her critics with her performance. When she speaks her dialogue simply and simply, her facial expressions are worth watching. The exercise done to keep the budget of the film Satyaprem Ki Katha balanced is visible in its supporting cast, apart from Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak. These actors taken according to the flavor of the film help in becoming the strength of the film. Gajraj Rao is also seen trying something new after the film ‘Maja Ma’, but his performance also has its limits. Sajna Dhjana does not match Supriya Pathak’s performance; she is a fine artist but her character in the film Satyaprem Ki Katha does not seem to match her tonality. The work of Siddharth Randeria and Anupriya Patel, who became the parents of the story, is worth mentioning here.
Satyaprem Ki Katha Review: Final Words
Overall, I found this to be a good film. If you want to see a new age beautiful and emotional love story, then you can buy tickets for the film Satyaprem Ki Katha this weekend. Satyaprem Ki Katha has its sweet moments. Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak have some scenes with Karthik Aryan which shine. Yes, on some occasions the story has also been drawn. But despite all this, the film has more plus points. The film Satyaprem Ki Katha is a powerful film at the level of thought itself. However, if you look carefully, this film is like a cocktail of dozen films by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Hrithik Roshan based on similar stories. The film’s cinematographer Ayanka Bose has also not created any special new images in this film. Shahrukh, Salman, and Ayananka, who was the cinematographer of Abhishek and Hrithik’s films, impressed Karthik in his previous film ‘Freddy’ but here in Karthik, she seems to be finding images of all the stars I have mentioned above. Charu Sri Roy has put in a lot of effort in editing to make the two-hour 24-minute film a watchable film, but still, the transition from one scene to another is jarring in many places. like the music of the film, everyone has already come to know about it. The focus on the remix of ‘Pasoori’ did not allow the audience to pay attention to the other songs in the film earlier. Despite all this, director Sameer Vidwans, making his Hindi film debut, has managed to deliver a strong social message through the pairing of Kartik and Kiara.
