Samantar 2 Review

In 2020, the first season of the web series “Samantar” was streamed on “MX Player”. In this story, there is an attempt to connect the lines of a person, a shadow and the hands of these two. According to the story, married Kumar Mahajan (Swapnil Joshi) went to a Swami (Jayant Savarkar) ji to know his future, on the advice of his friend, after being troubled by his life and daily squabbles. Swamiji had said on the strength of his knowledge that the lines on his hand are the lines of someone else’s hands, that person has lived his life thirty years ago and now the same is going to be the future of Kumar Mahajan. On Swamiji’s advice, Kumar Mahajan sets out in search of Sudarshan Chakrapani (Nitish Bharadwaj). He meets Chakrapani. Giving him the diary, Chakrapani says that Chakrapani’s past and Mahajan’s future are written in its pages. Chakrapani instructs that he should not mention the diary to anyone and read only one page in a day. This is where the story of season two of ‘Samantar’ begins.

Samantar 2 Review: The Story

The beginning of ‘Samantar 2‘ seems to be getting better. This season, we get to see the ‘parallel’ entanglement of the lives of Kumar Mahajan and Sudarshan Chakrapani. Sameer Vidwans has conveyed the parallels between the past and the present in a very simple and equally interesting way. In this story, Sai Tamhankar i.e. Chakrapani’s Sundara and Kumar’s Meera get a momentum. At first it seemed like the story was lingering a bit but due to this twist the story picks up pace. Kumar gets involved with Meera and something happens out of it that sends him straight to jail. An expected turn comes in the story when the story seems to be more interesting, more thrilling and mysterious. But even so, the ‘Love Sex Danger’ angle certainly arouses curiosity. What happens in the story anymore? Will Kumar Mahajan’s life be tangled? Which turn does the parallel thread in Chakrapani and Kumar’s life take? What happens next in the story of Sai Tamhankar? Are Kumar and Nima separated? You must watch ‘Samantar 2‘ to get answers to these and many more questions. The big question now is whether to look at it or not. So the answer is that if you have the first season, there is nothing wrong with watching the second season. It was thought that ‘Samantar 2’ would be more interesting, more mysterious than ‘Samantar 1’.

Samantar 2 Review: The Review and Analysis

Compared to the first season, the second season is very tight and is going to keep the audience hooked. Perhaps the reason for this is that it has been directed by veteran director Sameer Vidwans. But in this web series, unnecessarily dirty abuses and vulgar sexy scenes have been crammed, even if an effort was made to avoid them, it could have become a great web series. But it is becoming inevitable to have abuses and sex scenes in every web series of ‘MX Player’. The pace of the film is excellent, the interestingness remains intact in every episode. But some scenes are repetitive. At the same time, some scenes are difficult to believe. Apart from this, this web series somewhere promotes superstition regarding astrology and destiny, which cannot be correct. Because this web series, bypassing changing the future by human’s karma, says that he cannot change what is written in the fate of a person. It’s not practical either. The story of this series is an attempt to make an atheist person a believer.

Kumar Mahajan (Swwapnil Joshi) and Sudarshan Chakrapani (Nitish Bhardwaj) ‘s parallel to the life of the’ cycle ‘parallel’ thread ‘is exactly what we experienced in the first season of the hit web series’ parallel’. When the life of Kumar Mahajan, who never believed in the future, got entangled in the maze of the future, the twists and turns and the drama in it were presented in a very interesting way. The first season came to an end at an exciting stage, and just then the curiosity of the second season was aroused. The much awaited ‘Parallel 2’ begins at the stage where this first season ended. From the very first frame, we know that there will be a big twist in the story and ‘Ek Bai’ in Kumar’s life. The second season begins with a big twist and a big bang in the story. The season begins with a backstory. Kumar and Nima (Tejaswini Pandit) are finally happy and the storms in their lives seem to have subsided a bit while the entry in the story is ‘that lady’ i.e. Meera Baviskar (Sai Tamhankar).

Samantar 2 Review: The Performances

In the second season too, actor Swapnil Joshi is drawing attention with his acting skills in the role of Kumar Mahajan. Kumar Mahajan’s abusive, deranged nature looks different to Swapnil. The features of his character are felt by Prakash this season. The main reason for this is that Swapnil has become so immersed in that role that he has become a good character in Kumar Mahajan. He has presented the details of Kumar’s character after finding the future.

Speaking of acting, all the actors have done a great job. The roles of Swapnil Joshi, Tejaswini Pandit, Sai Tamhankar have certainly been well drawn, but with experience, it is easy to see and that is what Nitish Bhardwaj has done. Sudarshan Chakrapani Season 2 seems to be more impressive. Some glances, reactions came from them so easily. The acting side is great and the directing is also great. Sameer Vidwans has done the same magic in the second season as Satish Rajwade did in the first season. The angle of ‘that lady’ seems to be a bit tense but one thing is for sure, this track gives a different twist to the story. If you haven’t seen the first season, watch that season and then watch this second season. Because the references to the first season keep coming. There were a lot of expectations from this ‘Samantar 2’ and after watching 10 episodes, it seems that they have been fulfilled somewhere. And yes, ‘Samantar 2’ has come to an end once again at an exciting stage. Seeing this end, it has been sealed that ‘Samantar 3’ will come. All in all, ‘Samantar 2’ is interesting and intriguing. We are beginning to feel the effects of season 2. Twists and shocks certainly create curiosity. Season 1 also feels like watching again after watching the entire season. And the curiosity of what ‘Samantar 3’ will bring at the end of the season certainly stays in mind.

The first season was directed by Satish Rajwade. National Award winning director Sameer Vidwans has directed the second season. By keeping both the seasons in parallel, the director has made the second season even more thrilling and interesting. After the success of the first season, Sameer has taken the responsibility of making the second season a success. In the second episode, keeping the core of Suhas Shirwalkar’s original story intact, the mystery of the story is presented in a very interesting way.

Akash Agarwal’s cinematography helps to maintain the vibrancy of various occasions. Although there is a combination of mystery and thrill in this series, some parts of the series have slowed down. But from the beginning, the fast pace of the story forces us to watch ten such episodes in a row. Some more thrilling events would have been done justice if more emphasis had been placed on the background score. Anyway, the success of this series is that nowhere does the story feel like it has been presented in a drawn-out manner.
