Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City: Is There A Post-Credits Scene? Credit Scene Explained?

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is available in theaters! If you’re curious about whether to stick around until the end of the movie to see a post-credits scene, read on! For years, Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise has been split in two. There is the series of animated games and films built around the survival horror game of Shinji Mikami in 1996.

Then there’s the live-action film series, a half-dozen barely-related blockbusters starring Milla Jovovich. But the new Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City aims to change that. It’s a live-action adaptation of the early Resident Evil games, which plays out like a 107-minute fan movie. Which is not entirely a bad thing.

Resident Evil Welcome To Racoon City: Post Credit Scene Explained

Yes, Resident Evil Welcome to Racoon City has a post-credits scene, or rather a mid-credits scene, and it’s pretty big. In it, Albert Wesker, the former leader of the STARS team investigating the Spencer Mansion, wakes up in a body bag in a dark room. This particular scene is a throwback to the opening sequence of the GameCube 2002 remake of the 1996 PlayStation game “Resident Evil”.

Earlier in the film, Ada gives Wesker her sunglasses and seems to assure him that there will be more like him. At the end of the scene, Ada tells Wesker who she is. Wesker’s portrayal in “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” is very different from what he is in previous games and movies.

Either way, he’s an irredeemable, ruthless, calculating, and loyal character to Umbrella Corporation. However, in Welcome to Raccoon City , he desperately wants to leave Raccoon City as soon as possible for financial reasons and betrays the survivors. Wesker’s sunglasses have long been a source of curiosity for fans. This film seems to imply that they are helping him see despite his condition. He was likely brought back by Ada on the instructions of a senior Umbrella official. It is clear that the insidious organization has other things planned for Wesker.
