Red Notice Will Have 2 Sequels: Here’s What Is Known About The Netflix Trilogy

Red Notice has been Netflix ‘s most expensive film to date, both for the many locations used and for the main cast of three “diamonds” such as Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. On the screen these stars have formed a positive alchemy, which has led Red Notice to be one of the most viewed titles in the entire catalog of the American streaming service. Having ascertained the success of the funny action film, the question immediately arose for a possible sequel to which the director and screenwriter Rawson Marshall Thurber responded positively, considering however that the famous “green light” to the project could only be given by the giant of the streaming.

The Production Of The Two Sequels

Today the prestigious site Deadline has published the news that all the fans have been waiting for or that Netflix is ​​preparing the sequels to Red Notice! Yes, you read that right: the sequels will be two and they will be shot back-to-back or at the same time. This technique, also used for example by Peter Jakcson for the Lord of the Rings trilogy and by the Russo brothers for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, allows the production to save a lot of money.

The reason is that sets are built only once instead of two, the cast’s schedule is reduced and their presence on set is maximized, as is that of those who work behind the scenes. Although not yet confirmed, Rawson Marshall Thurber should return to directing, who in 2022 is busy with the film The Division with Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal.

What Will Be The Plot Of Red Notice 2?

The ending of Red Notice brought a new possible robbery to the Louvre museum on the plate, involving some paintings that would have been painted using (as legend has it) the hearts and bodies of French kings. In the case of the Louvre, the painting entitled Interieur de cuisine by the painter Martin Drolling worked with the heart of Louis XIII is kept here, while still in France – at the Pontoise museum – there is the painting entitled Vue de Caen by Alexandre Pau de Saint -Martin, who allegedly used the heart of Louis XIV.

Obviously, from the first film there are still some unanswered questions such as the one on the true story of the Bishop, that of the story between INTERPOOL and John Hartley but above all the one concerning the fathers of Hartley and Booth: where did they go? One possibility is that these will play a role in one of the two sequels to the Red Notice trilogy.

When is Red Notice 2 Will Release?

Production, as reported by Deadline, should start in 2023. Production times depend on the problems that could cause the health emergency linked to the Coronavirus pandemic, but if everything goes smoothly, the availability of the second chapter of Red Notice is not excluded as early as November 2023.
