Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story makes its official debut showing itself in a first teaser trailer. Netflix released the video during a special event dedicated to the Bridgerton universe in the presence of Shonda Rhimes who is executive producer of Queen Charlotte (together with Betsy Beers and Tom Verica), screenwriter, and showrunner. During the event, Rhimes talked about how the spin-off will showcase young versions of some of Bridgerton ‘s most beloved characters while running a timeline to the present to highlight the evolution of those same characters. “We will know them in their origins[…]. You will be able to see, for all the characters, their growth path, as they have become in comparison with their younger version”. The teaser trailer, which you can see at the bottom of our article, also reveals the release date of Queen Charlotte, which will arrive on Netflix on May 4th.

In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) will reprise their roles from the main series. Leading the cast, in the young version of the characters, India Amarteifio (Queen Charlotte), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta), Corey Mylchreest (King George), and Arsema Thomas (Lady Danbury). Rounding out the cast are Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri, and Hugh Sachs. As THR reports, India Amarteifio has revealed that she auditioned for Queen Charlotte in 2021, not knowing what role he was supposed to play. After discovering that she would be the young Queen Charlotte, she watched and rewatched the two seasons of Bridgerton, becoming fascinated by the universe created by Shonda Rhimes.
And speaking of the original series, we already know that the third season of Bridgerton will focus on the love affairs of the characters Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Phoebe Dynevor, who starred with Regé-Jean Page in the first season, recently stated that she will not return to Bridgerton 3.
