Pinocchio: Disney Reveals The First Photo, Here Is Tom Hanks In The Role Of Geppetto
The first image of Pinocchio comes directly from the Disney+ Instagram account, the new live action adaptation of Collodi’s fairy tale, intended for the platform. In the image below you can see Tom Hanks in the role of Geppetto who closely inspects his sons Pinocchio, the newborn puppet.

Directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, Pinocchio revisits in a live action the beloved story of a wooden puppet who embarks on an exciting adventure to become a real child. Tom Hanks plays Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and cares for Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the Jiminy Cricket, guide of Pinocchio and “conscience” of him; Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is the Fox; Academy Award nominee Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character; and Luke Evans is the Postillion. The film is produced by Robert Zemeckis, Derek Hogue, Andrew Miano, Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz, while Jackie Levine, Jack Rapke, Alexandra Derbyshire and Jeremy Johns are executive producers.
One of Disney’s most beloved films, the classic par excellence, will return in a new live action version on Disney+, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Eviro, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Pinocchio will be the protagonist of a new tale in flesh and blood.
