Peacemaker Season 1 Ending Explained: Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and The Flash Cameo? The Brutal DCEU Connection

The HBO Max series about the origin of the superhero who is “so dedicated to world peace” that he is willing to use the force of arms to achieve it, Peacemaker“, has come to an end with the delivery of its eighth episode. Starring John Cena, this series has given us great moments of acid, raw, bizarre comedy and a completely different perspective than we had seen on superheroes. Now, with the arrival of its last chapter, surprise appearances and the moment in which the story ends, it has raised different questions, and next we are going to shred them.

Peacemaker Ending Cameo

Peacemaker Season 1 Ending Explained: Is Cow Dead

As we saw in the eighth and last chapter, The Peacemaker and his team stopped all the invading Butterfly; however, the main character was presented with a moral dilemma when one proposed to join them. In order to convince him, he explained that his philosophy was very similar: absolute peace and the end as justification of the means.

Although the protagonist understands the mission of the aliens, he decides to reject them and questions whether he saved or condemned the planet. However, Adebayo tells him that he did the right thing by giving them the opportunity to choose for themselves. It is so that he chooses her as her best friend and he forgives her for everything that happened before.

In the end, Economos returns to his previous job, Vigilante is cleared of false charges, Adebayo is reunited with his wife, Harcourt recovers from his grievous injuries, and Peacemaker tries to find peace despite hallucinations of his late father. With the Butterfly arc closed, it seems that the second season, already confirmed, will present new threats. However, it is unknown if all the members of the original team will get back together or there will be new comrades-in-arms.

The Cameo of Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and The Flash

There is a lot to talk about here, first of all, the end of the series, Peacemaker saves the world from the control of the butterflies, that is how it is, and also in a very bizarre way , and if not ask Adebayo and the human torpedo. Managing to put an end to the survival of the butterflies by killing the only animal that could sustain them with food, before that, Economos and the team stuck their necks out against a mob of infected butterflies (I don’t know how to describe it better).

At the end of everything, they arrive at the Justice League stage , or at least, part of it. We can see Aquaman , The Flash, Wonder Woman and Superman . The non-presence in Peacemaker of the most important member of the Justice League, Batman , stands out . We know that Ben Affleck will say goodbye to the role after The Flash , so the reasons seem obvious. Returning to the brutal cameo, Peacemaker pulls on his charisma throughout this series and reproaches them for being late, as always, and leaves a message for Aquaman and his supposed affiliation with fish. The funny gag of the series arises through Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa.

Several aspects of this scene stand out: Jason Momoa wears the suit from the end of Aquaman and The Flash in the Justice League movie, and Superman and Wonder Woman are not played by Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill, in the case of Sups it is the second cameo in the one that Superman appears in this way, implying that he exists within the DCEU, but he is a character whose future is completely unknown. The moral of all this is that The Justice League is no stranger to what’s going on in the DCEU, and that it knows of Peacemaker’s existence, at least now it does.

The end of the series leaves us with many interesting revelations. Like the fact that Adebayo has revealed one of the biggest secrets of the North American State, the X-Force project , or what is the same, has revealed that his mother, Amanda Waller , is behind The Suicide Squad, where he manages to get convicts participate in order to reduce their sentences. What will this mean for the future of the team? Will the Suicide Squad cease to exist after the end of Peacemaker? We know that there is a second season, in which Smith (played by a spectacular John Cena) seems to have found the path of good, although in his own way.
