The first season of Peacemaker has finally arrived on digital platforms, and the series starring John Cena will have an unusual feature in DC Comics programs, all chapters will have post-credit scenes. As James Gunn announced to us on social media, three episodes were posted online on premiere day, telling us the story of Christopher Smith after the events seen in The Suicide Squad.

Now Peacemaker will have to join a team commanded by Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) who is behind the Butterfly project, and with it the entanglements and the action are fired wholesale. If you expected major spoilers in the post-credit scenes, you can breathe easy, since there is no relevant information regarding the following chapters, or any event that influences the future of the DC Comics Extended Universe.

What Were The Post-Credit Scenes About?

In the first episode, the post-credits scene expands on Christopher Smith’s visit with his father to get new helmets, clarifying that one of them would give him hives at will.

While in the second episode an interrogation is shown in which the FBI agents who are behind Peacemaker, who interrogate the couple that Christopher Smith met, who had obvious marital problems.

And in the third episode Emilia Harcourt warns Vigilante that if she messes up the mission she will kill her family, to which Adrian Chase replies that it’s too late for that.

These post-credit scenes only address some of the events of the chapters, as a complement to the humor that will be seen week after week in this series a hallmark of James Gunn’s works with superheroes. Peacemaker features an ensemble cast headed by John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos.

Joining this series are Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Chris Conrad as Vigilante, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, and Annie Chang as Sophie Song. The first season of Peacemaker will be eight episodes, five of them directed by James Gunn, creator of the series. The first chapters are already available on the HBO Max platform. When the Suicide Squad is assigned to neutralize a group of international super-terrorists known as The Revolutionaries, the last thing they expect is for the survivors to join the team!

All episodes of Peacemaker they contain a post-credits scene that only and exclusively includes a gag from the episode. There is no possible spoiler, you do not discover anything new about the characters. They are post-credits scenes in which, for example, you can learn that “every man should have scabies once in his life”, that there is technology capable of producing scabies at will, or in which you can attend a peculiar lineup. They do not advance the plot, nor are they a preview of what is going to happen the following week (in this case three episodes have been posted at the same time, but the entire series is designed for weekly consumption).

They are solely and exclusively a fun. Since the cliffhangers stay within the episode (45 minutes long, Peacemaker clearly stands out and thus adds to the debate on whether the post-credit scenes are necessary or, in the end, a hindrance. For Peacemaker everything that has to be in the episode stays in the episode: each of them contains everything he wants to tell and offers enough information to leave you wanting to see the next episode. That is the lesson for Marvel movies and series.

Since the first MCU movie, Iron Man (2008), Marvel Studios has included a post-credits scene in almost every movie, with the sole exception of The Incredible Hulk And from the movies, the post-credits have jumped to their series.
