Paatal Lok Season 2 Review: Fond and Excellent Performance of Crime Stories?

Five years later, the Paatal Lok Season 2 a hit series comes, the first question is why wait so long? The answer is something similar to what Amgen Prime video has given in the previous season of its previous series ‘Mirzapur’. Series ‘Paatal Lok’ Actress Anushka Sharma teamed up with her brother Karnesh Sharma. Anushka had played a good bet on OTT by bringing writer-director Sudip Sharma as a character and the stakes were right. But Anushka is no longer part of this team. Karnesh also does not see much control over his team. The series left the Paatal Lok of Delhi and reached the Mafia folk of the Northeast. What was the result? Let’s find it out… Paatal Lok is named in the best web series of the career of Jaideep Ahlawat (Jaideep Ahlawat). The first season of the series came in the year 2020 and it left a deep impression in the hearts and minds of the people. It is commonly seen that the second part of the series does not come out better than the first one, but in the case of Paatal Lok, this saying does not sit accurately.

You must read this review before watching the second season, which will give you an idea of the interestingness of the series. In the first season of Paatal Lok, the character of Jaideep Ahlawat to Abhishek Banerjee was well-liked. Although the character of Hammer Tyagi is over in the second season, the interestingness and suspense in season 2 are greater than before. This also applies to the dialog of the series. Haryanvi Dialog of Jaideep Ahlawat‘s character will leave you with a smile on your face. Season 1 of Paatal Lok left a deep impression on the audience in several life-long web series in the Corona period. This series, which redesigned crime, had a social collapse – as well as a spider in the world of crime that kept the audience tied. Now season 2 has come after a four-year wait and there is no point in saying that season 2 does not prove to be any less than the first season. The challenges and challenges of the underdog and the sat-finding Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) have become bitter. This time he settles Nagaland’s background a complex murder case in which he has to bear the great brunt.

Paatal Lok Season 2 Review: Story Plot

This time the case is a bit big, as he is engaged in locating the accused of killing Nagaland’s popular politician Jonathan Thom. Together they also have partner Imran Ansari, but this season their juniors have now become seniors. The character of actor Ishwak Singh (Ishwak Singh) has increased and is now ACP. The first episode of the series shows Nagaland’s leader’s head apart from his body. The responsibility of investigating the matter falls on Ansari’s shoulders, but later in its investigation, Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary of Jamanagar police station also enters. They have complaints about the disappearance of an immigrant laborer. Later, whose strings are seen to be related to the murder case of the politician, he along with his old partner goes to Nagaland and starts an investigation.

As these two try to reach the depths of the slaughter, the world of crime becomes more chaotic than before. Many twists are seen in the series’ story. There is a lot of suspense in the final episode, which you will not be able to guess during 4 to 5 episodes. The series begins with a waiter standing outside a large luxurious hotel room. He stands outside a room carrying a tray of hot tea in his hand and playing the vine, but ‘come in from behind the door’ with no sound. The door opens when he hands, and the waiter goes inside. There are guest goods all over the room, but the guests are missing. Then the waiter’s eye falls on the bathroom door. He sneaks into the bathroom and is shocked by what he sees. There is a corpse lying in front that is bleeding, but the most frightening thing is that the head of that corpse is not placed on its torso and placed on the bandage above. This is the heavenly folk in which the insects of Paatal Lok have entered.

Paatal Lok Season 2 Review and Analysis

The first season of Paatal Lok came in 2020 and now its second season in 2025 is amazing. Often the case gets messed up in the second season but the prime video probably does wonders in this case. This series has brought back the feel of Paatal Lok.  It runs at its own pace. Considering Nagaland’s sensitivity, not a useless Heropanti, not loud music, not a useless sex scene. Yes, there are abuses, but without him how would Paatal Lok feel like Paatal Lok? In this series, the investigation goes its way and takes the viewer with it, regardless of anyone and this is the specialty of this series that its quality has improved further in 5 years.  This series states that Prime Video has created an amazing series through which season-by-season can be made.

The season 2 trailer had another dialogue “systems Naav ki tarah hai”. Everyone knows that there is a hole in it, and you are among those who are trying to save this boat. ‘ There can be a long discussion that Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary is saving the boat. Or are the holes in the boat like Chaudhary? Because they run according to the heart, not the system. One thing was confirmed by the first season about Chaudhary this tall man is very emotional at heart. This emotion is the key to starting the second season car. A woman who came with a seven-year-old child is struggling to file a complaint at Outer Jamnapar police station. There is no discovery news of her husband, Raghu Paswan, who works in Dihari. She is upset that if something happens to her husband, how will she find the child? That’s when Hathiram Chaudhary‘s eyes are on him, and he starts taking action on the matter by looking at the child.

In the first season, you saw Chaudhary’s junior, Imran Ansari (Ishwak Singh) preparing for an exam. The exam is cleared, and Ansari has now become a big police officer. In the Nagaland House, Jonathan Thom, a prominent leader of the Nagaland Democratic Forum Party, has been strangled. He came to Delhi to be part of a big summit, which is very important for the development of Nagaland in the future and to bring the people there on the path of progress. Ansari is leading the investigation into Thom’s murder and the strings of this case are linked to decades of violence in Nagaland. On the other hand, Chaudhary also finds the connection of Raghu’s disappearance connecting with Nagaland. The story also includes the controversy of a large family associated with drugs, Nagaland politics, and the individual communities there. A girl Rose Lijo (Merenla Imsong) is the centerpiece of this story and has a connection to both cases.

Chaudhary and Ansari, who arrived in Nagaland to solve this kink, are now in a place where geography-politics-social science, and mathematics are all out of their grasp. To understand these, he has found the key, Meghna Barua (Tilottama Shom), an officer of the Nagaland Police, and his junior Isaac (Bendang Walling). Will both of them support Chaudhary and Ansari, who are responsible for Thom’s death? Will Chaudhary find Raghu out of all this kink? Will this kink be solved or will the Paatal Lok swallowing Nagaland, Chaudhary, and Ansari prove to be hellish? This is the issue of the show. The first show was set in the atmosphere of Delhi-Midhya Pradesh-Panjab, which is well known to Hindi audiences. But Nagaland, tragically, is not as familiar a place for Hindi audiences. In the political-social conflict media there is no discussion in the way that this story set there can be predicated. In such a situation, Hathiram Chaudhary‘s simple way of thinking and his attempt to understand things create suspense in the story of  Paatal Lok Season 2 which binds you to the story.

The biggest feature of the show is that it does not forget its main story, taking Nagaland’s Conflict on screen. Nor does this show try to explain Nagaland’s issues to the audience in an ultra-simple way or to commit them in an ‘outsider’ way. There is no attempt to address the discrimination that occurs in the North-East through a character giving a lecture.

But whenever the characters set in Delhi claim to understand Nagaland from the outside, they are given a slight rebuke. Like- there is a scene in the show where a senior officer shows a map of North-East to Chaudhary, who is upset at Nagaland’s pongs, asking- ‘Know where is Nagaland in this?’ And Chaudhary could not answer. There are many characters set there to explore what is going on in Nagaland. Director Avinash Arun’s special appreciation for this work. Hathiram Chaudhary or Imran Ansari’s local people, keeping the sympathy from local issues, only focus on their case. In the eyes of these two, there is a surprise about the legs and digs of the new place, which as the audience also becomes your eye. Like the first season, Hathiram‘s family issues are not much in the second season. Rather this time there are many characters to show the personal life confusion and struggle of the policemen.

Its character was the biggest legacy of the first season of Paatal Lok. Sudip Sharma and the writing team wrote characters that are good or bad, you want to know them. This thing is also the highlight of the second season. The story features a sharpshooter, Danielle (Pacific Tamang), reminiscent of the mysterious characters of the straight Hollywood style. Leading all the ongoing efforts for Nagaland’s development is Uncle Kane (Janu Barua), who opens his cards and shocks at the end of the show. But you can’t see them in black and white. You won’t understand Thom’s rebel son Ruben (L. C. Sekhoje) initially, he will also surprise Magar Last. Her mother Asenla Thom (Roselle Mero) has many layers, and their contrast produces amazing effects. Rose’s story itself is the definition of despair. You will also remember one of his friends. Her senior, Virk (Anurag Arora), who plagued Chaudhary last season, comes into the story from a new path and his character surprises you this time. Isaac’s character will emotionalize you in the end. Every character will feel you, whether small or big.

Two things are most important to make the characters memorable – good writing and strong work. The writing of ‘Patal Lok 2’ is rotten and the actors have played it with full vigor. All the actors playing the based characters in Nagaland have done a great job and the role of all this is the biggest in keeping the show tied. Strong actors like Prashant, Walling, Roselle, and Janu Barua have raised the level of the show very high. Seeing Tilottama Shom, you once again remember how little he is used while he is such a great artist. You feel the connection with Ishwak Singh once again. Jaideep Ahlawat will always be the example of perfect casting and magnificent work in the role of Hathiram Chaudhary, the ‘Permanent resident of Patal Lok’. The less he speaks, the more effective his body language is. The way they swag Hathiram with their stature is amazing. Jaydeep has made Hathiram a cult figure in the same two seasons of the show. Overall, the second season of ‘Paatal Lok‘, despite the story being set in new terrain and with a lot of new characters, elevates the impact that the first season produced.

It has a glut of layers that trap the mind. You constantly feel an attachment to Hathiram. Nagaland’s unseen locations give the show the perfect mood. Some people may feel a bit slow in the middle of the show. But its drawback is met with the speed, action, and thrill of the story at the end of 3 episodes and climax. Jaideep’s work in the finale episode is at a different level, which will always remain the best showpiece of his talent. Entry takes the place of Jaidip Ahlavat’s character Hathiram, who is still a resident of Paatal Lok. Even after working hard in everything, the face of Jaideep, his gestures, colloquialisms can be felt clearly. He is struggling with a case that only then his eyes are on his junior Ansari who is no longer a junior. He has now become ACP. Ansari i.e. Ishwak Singh’s gullible simple face makes quite a statement when the camera looks at him for the first time. Ansari may have become ACP but still respects Hathiram as much. This slaughter reunites both ways and Kismet leaves Delhi and brings him to Nagaland, as he was a great leader of Nagaland, and this delegation came to Delhi for a very big summit.

The cemetery of Hathiram and Ansari is very spectacular and makes it more spectacular, Tillotma Shom. Tillotama’s character Meghna is a local police officer in Nagaland. Nagaland’s language is Nagamiz and Indian English. Some people understand a little Hindi. The way Tillotma has caught the accent of Nagaland’s language is fantastic. Remembered by the magnificent work, Nagesh Kukanur, who became Kapil Reddy, has also done an amazing job. Apart from this, the actors of Nagaland have very beautifully shown the problems of the North-East on screen. Talk about the screenplay and direction of the show, then the screenplay of the show is amazing. However, this show is quite a slow pace like its last season and this time all the twists and turns do not serve you in the plate but you have to put your mind to yourself. A total of 8 episodes on the show are all 45 minutes. So these will take about 5-6 hours of yours, but when you complete the show you will enjoy it. It is often not easy to make another on the same lines after the first cult season, but Paatal Lok has made a comeback.

Like last season, this time also appears in search of truth amidst all the flaws in the Hathiram system. This journey is carried forward by director Avinash Arun Dhavre in a thriller, Nirmohi, Magar human style. They set the atmosphere from the first episode’s Murder Scene. As episodes move forward, corpses and intrigues grow, and Hathiram breaks them. The director has carved out the black chapter of the slaughter in the beautiful headland of Nagaland. The biggest plus point of this series is its Makita and realism. Although it gives a glimpse of other crime-based series, the style of Magar storytelling is different. The second season is more subtle than the first season. The combination of local languages of Hindi, English, and Nagaland is well known. But its plot is a bit complicated and has many plots, which can complicate the audience.

Paatal Lok Season 2 Review: The Last Words

Overall Prime Video has started the year bang, watch. The direction of Avinash Arun Dhavre is a great compliment. He kept the soul alive in Paatal Lok. Not affected by separate content in 5 years. The writing of the show is also amazing. The biggest series staggers when the direction is weak, but the direction in Paatal Lok 2 has been worthy of praise. Avinash Arun has worked to keep Paatal Lok alive. At the same time, good work has also been done on the writing of the series. Overall, the series is worth watching and through this, Amazon Prime has also started the year 2025. His breath is now swollen in catching the culprit. Jaideep has also failed to give this character a different attitude this time. Gul Panag got his template last time in BV’s roll. This time he is still on it. To Nagesh Kukunur and Jahanu Barua, it is definitely interesting to watch acting. Sudip Sharma has definitely landed some of the two by doing this work. The background music of the series is the same as the first season. Artists from the North East have worked in the series in bulk, but apart from Prashant Tamang, the effective work of Kisa does not belong to another. But apart from Prashant Tamang, the effective work of Kisa does not belong to another. But apart from Prashant Tamang, the effective work of Kisa does not belong to another.
