Oscars 2024 Nominations: All the Nominees of the 96th Academy Awards

All the nominations for the Oscars 2024 were announced during the event presented by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid. The awards ceremony of the 96th edition of the Academy Awards will be held on March 10, 2024, in the historic Dolby Theater in Hollywood and, once again, the host of the evening will be the comedian Jimmy Kimmel. If you read the long list of Oscar 2024 nominations, you will immediately notice the massive presence of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. After the huge wins at the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards and the current 13 nominations, it is the title to beat for the statuette for best film, director, supporting actor, and a notable number of technical categories. If 2024 will be the year of Nolan’s Oscar consecration, some titles and performers cannot say the same. Starting with Killers of the Flower Moon by Scorsese, which obtained 10 nominations, but was snubbed in two fundamental categories: best leading actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and best-adapted screenplay (from the novel by David Grann).

Oscars 2024 Nominations: All the Nominees of the 96th Academy Awards

As expected, Oppenheimer leads the group with 13 nominations, followed by the excellent results of Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon, which reached 11 and 10 nominations. Barbie is more distant, stuck at eight nominations, two of which are in the categories of best original songs, and disappointed by the absence of Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie from the respective director and leading actress categories (Ryan Gosling, however, was nominated as best supporting actress). Also worth mentioning is Godzilla Minus One among the special effects, I Captain by Matteo Garrone in the international films and the historic foreign double film in the best film category, thanks to the excellent performances of Anatomy of a Fall (5 nominations) and The Zone of Interest (6 nominations).
